🥵 HOT WEATHER REMINDER 🥵

A reminder of few points if you’re visiting this week… PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHAT YOU NEED TO DO! ⬇️

☀️ I am very lucky that my salon stays pretty cool for most of the day. It doesn’t hold the heat well which is great this time of year! (I had the heating on Friday morning😂)

☀️ I take measures in the salon the keep your dogs cool- the bath temp is turned down, dryers set to cool air, lots of water around and I have lots of towels which I can dip in cool water for your dogs to stand on during grooming/ lay on after - although I have a concrete floor so it’s always cold like a giant cool mat!

☀️ Some dogs will leave damp. Especially those that don’t require clipping. They will dry off pretty quickly in this weather and it just means there is less need for the dryer to be on them. This will DEFINITELY happen if your dog is Brachycephalic, a puppy or old.

☀️ If you dog is showing signs of stress or I feel they are getting too hot and bothered the grooming process will stop immediately/ I may adapt what they have done to suit their personal circumstances.

☀️ Your dog might have a wet belly or beard when you pick them up- this will be because they have been on a wet towel or taking advantage of the all your can drink bar 💦

☀️ WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?

👉🏼DO NOT (and I cannot stress this enough) walk your dog down to the salon. I don’t care how close you live. It is too hot and I’ll be starting on the back foot. If your dog is too hot when they arrive from walking down I will not groom them and the full charge will apply. Put them in the car with the air con up high!

👉🏼 Please let them rest before visiting and ensure they have time to digest any food. Stressed dogs are hot dogs.

👉🏼On arrival please ensure the hand over is quick- dogs feed off your energy and I need them as calm as possible. There will be plenty of time for cuddles this evening when it’s cooler!

Thank you for your understanding with this, I have groomed many dogs in this salon during the summer months over the years and if we all follow these points the only one sweating and getting hot will be me! ☀️

Complete with a wedding bow so he’s looking just as smart as the rest of the family 🤎

It is with great sadness that I share that my mum has passed away.

During this difficult time, the business will be closed for the next few days while I spend time with family.

⭐️If your appointment is cancelled I will message you personally. If you do not hear from me, please assume your appointment still stands.

My mum has always been a driving force behind Because I’m Woof It. She came with me to collect the van, came with me to view the salon and collected the keys with me 9 years ago. In fact she leant me the money all those years ago, to train and qualify as a dog groomer!
Many of you will have met her along the way as she often came to the salon 🩷

I appreciate your understanding, patience and support and will respond to messages as soon as I can upon returning.

Seen as Rocky got so much love on my stories on Friday I thought more Rocky would be a little bank holiday treat for us all! 🩶

There are a few lessons we can all learn from Rocky…

1️⃣ Who knew starting your dog young and getting your new puppy booked in AND staying consistent would produce a confident dog that understands what’s happening?! 😉

2️⃣ Short haired dogs do actually need grooming?! SO much hair came out! And I quote Rocky’s owner “You were right, the shedding has definitely started!!” .. this is not just to highlight how fabulous I am at predicting when a baby becomes a big boy and needs a full groom (although obviously I’m not letting that one slide!) It’s to remind you, getting the consistency in beforehand will benefit you, your dog and your carpets at home!

3️⃣ Even big scary Staffies can come round to grooming! Sense the tone 🙃 they’re actually the biggest babies! They’re some of the most sensitive and emotionally intelligent dogs and actually require a bit more work as they need waaaay more kisses and reassurance than a lot of other breeds)

A couple answers to a few questions…

I’ve had a number of the same questions recently when people have been paying so I wanted to give you all the same information 🩷

💕 WHICH PAYMENT METHOD DO I PREFER?
The first answer is always I don’t care as long as I’m paid in GBP 😂
But I do of course understand your question… so my preference is bank transfer (must be done either before collection or before you leave the salon). This way it goes straight into my account, I don’t get charged fees from the card machine company and I don’t get charged fees from the bank for paying in cash (yup they like to do that to businesses 🙄). So if you don’t mind how you pay, this is my personal preference, but honestly whatever way suits you. Card, Bank Transfer or Cash is accepted 🩷

💕 CAN YOU LEAVE A TIP
Since switching card machines the tipping function was no longer there and I’ve had so many people asking how to tip / can they add extra on etc 🫶🏽. I’ve managed to work it out (it was under the tipping tab in my app, who’d have thought 🙄).

Now when you pay by card, this is the screen you will first see. Just like with the previous machine THERE IS ZERO EXPECTATION and I am not watching or keeping track of who is/ isn’t tipping. It’s just there as some would like the feature. If you do not want to tip you just press the ❌ and it’s as simple as that! If you do, press the green button and it’ll take you through to the tip options.

Just like in a restaurant or any other service based role, it’s there but nothing is expected 🩷
