Day time Senior RVN

As a thriving, busy and growing 24 HR hospital, we are looking for a full-time Senior RVN - offering a very competitive package, lovely team, fabulous client base, supported career progression, exceptionally varied and interesting role, excellent location and nestled in the heart of Wokingham - if you want to know more, call us on 0118 979 0551 or have a look at the Medivet Careers Page for a detailed description .

Non-negotiables are:

The shift will be day time for 8 hours, Monday to Friday, between 7:30am and 8:00pm.

You will be required to work either a Saturday or Sunday every 4th weekend and be part of the hospital on-call rota.

A good sense of humour and a willingness to add to the biscuit supply occasionally 😉 okay we may negotiate that last bit for the right candidate! 😁

😻 An update on our beautiful mummy cat and kittens - they have all now been safely rehomed, microchipped, vaccinated, all coming back for a free health check and mummy cat Sage was spayed. All the new owners have committed to neutering the babies when it is safe to do so😻 thank you to all willing to rehome - please know Diana Brimblecombe and Cats Protection have many cats looking for forever homes.

🐱 Medivet currently offer all new kitten owners a health plan for £15.50 per month that is currently covering neutering, a year's unlimited (Mon-Fri Day) consults, vaccinations, microchip and flea and wormer, as well as 50% off selected meds and 10% off treatment and products - amazing offer which encourages people to give a kitten a home! 🐾 FOUND KITTENS 🐾

These three little boys have been brought into Medivet Wokingham by a kind member of the public after being found on Norreys Avenue, Wokingham.

They are estimated to be around 8 weeks old and, unfortunately, none of them are microchipped.

If you think they may be yours, please contact us on 01189 790551.

Proof of ownership will be required.

And meet the babies❤️

Poppy, Chia, Flax, Sesame, Mustard, Pumpkin and Sunflower - 2 boys, 5 girls 😻

We are looking for forever homes for these gorgeous and to be honest quite sassy babies😁 They are simply adorable, climb up your trousers regularly and can often be found in a bundle of fur playing, so could go in pairs.

ALL INTEREST TO BE MADE VIA EMAIL - please do not call as our phone lines need to be for our poorly pets.

You will see Chia and Poppy have a little gammy eye - all 7 babies had cat flu and have been treated but these two little imps are still on eye drops and antibiotics. 💊 We will be monitoring them both for any eye damage over the next 2 weeks but we are hoping that they fully recover, and aren't they just the cutest.

As per Sage, there is an expectation that the new human parent/s microchip and vaccinate the kitten/s before they leave and we will be expecting them back for a free health check a week later.

In your email please provide:-

- Full name, address and contact number
- details of other pets
- proposed vet
- acceptance of criteria re chip etc
- detail the kitten/s that you are interested in

You will also be asked to visit the clinic.

Kittens will be ready to go to their new home on 28th September.

Meet Sage ♥️ the gorgeous mummy cat who is so affectionate and been a very patient mum not just to her own babies but she also adopted a 7th! She is truly amazing and will be a fabulous addition to any family - she is gentle and loves a cuddle, and a break from 7 babies! And those eyes, they look into your soul, we love her💕

Her future human parent/s have to show a commitment and be prepared to have her chipped and vaccinated before she leaves us - we will ensure that she has been spayed but she would need to be brought back within a week for a free health check. We hope she can join her new family from 28th September.

Please do not reply to the post or phone as our lines need to be free for genuine poorly pets and clients - you will be asked to email.

Did you know that we often welcome veterinary students from local universities to Medivet Wokingham for placements and valuable hands-on learning opportunities?

Recently, we had the lovely Maddie join us, spending time shadowing our wonderful veterinary team and getting an insight into life in practice. 🐶🐱

Here are a few snaps of Maddie getting involved during a routine spay, with our wonderful Diana providing some fantastic mentoring and guidance along the way. 👩‍⚕️💚

We love being able to support the next generation of vets and give students the opportunity to learn, gain experience and see what life in practice is really like!

🐿️💚 A little squirrel story 💚🐿️

A member of the public recently brought this tiny baby squirrel into Medivet Wokingham after finding them in need of help.

Our amazing nurse Keira took this little one under her wing and cared for them with so much love, patience and dedication. 🥹🐿️

Sadly, despite Keira’s incredible efforts and all the care they received, the outcome wasn’t the one we had hoped for. 💔

We’re so proud of Keira for giving this gorgeous little creature the very best care possible and showing such kindness and compassion throughout. 🥰

This handsome boy came to see us this week for a routine ultrasound scan of his abdomen. He was such a good and brave boy throughout! 🥰🐾

Hamish certainly enjoyed all the love and attention from everyone here at Medivet — and after such a busy day, he was definitely ready for a well-deserved good night’s rest at home. 💤💙
