Keeping your dog’s coat longer this winter? ❄️ Regular grooming is still essential.

We get it. Colder months, you want more fluff and more length. We can absolutely do that. But longer coats don’t mean less grooming, they mean MORE upkeep. 🙅🏻‍♀️

Longer hair is more prone to:
✖️ Knots and matting
✖️ Trapped moisture
✖️ Dirt and debris
✖️ Tangling around jumpers and harnesses
✖️ Uncomfortable pulling on the skin

Here’s the part people don’t realise: waiting longer between appointments can have the opposite effect. 🙈 Once a coat becomes heavily matted, we may have no safe option other than to clip underneath the matting. That’s often much shorter than you originally wanted, and nobody wants that, especially before Christmas.

A groom also doesn’t always mean a short haircut ✂️ During the colder months we can:
🤍 Keep the body longer
🤍 Tidy the face, hygiene area and feet
🤍 Remove dead coat
🤍 Brush out tangles
🤍 Keep the coat clean, conditioned and healthy

By staying on top of brushing, bathing and coat maintenance, we remove tangles before they become mats. That’s how we preserve the length and keep your dog comfortable.

We’re up close with your dog’s skin and coat every single session — which means we often spot the small stuff before it becomes big stuff. Lumps, bumps, hot spots, ear issues, skin irritation hiding under a thick coat — the kind of things easy to miss on a quick stroke at home but hard to miss when we’re hands-on for a full groom.

We’re not vets and we won’t diagnose anything — but if we find something that looks off, we’ll flag it straight away so you can get it checked properly. Regular grooming isn’t just about the look, it’s an early warning system for your dog’s health.
