UPDATE ON OPM

They are calling me later today with time to come and remove the nest.

It is safe to use the field but do not disturb the nest which is about 2 meters high. They recommend avoiding the canopy of the tree.

The tree is directly in front of the gate along by the bypass.

We have been notified of a potential Oak Processionary Moth (OPM) nest, in the oak tree directly in front of the gate near the fence that runs along the bypass. It is high enough that dogs can’t reach the nest but the caterpillars can drop from the tree and shed there fury coat that can then irritate. This is potential harmful to both humans and animals. We are in the process of contacting the forestry commission to have it removed. We have 3 options
1. Move your booking to another date.
2. ⁠issue you a full refund.
3. ⁠use the agility field and keep your dogs well away from the tree.

I think it goes with out say but saying it anyway.

Please not smoke in the field, we have cut the grass and it is so dry we really don’t want to add to the emergency services already under pressure.
