☀️ Keeping Horses Comfortable in Hot Weather ☀️

As temperatures rise across the south west, it’s important to help your horse stay cool, hydrated and comfortable.

💧Ensure they have constant access to fresh water and adequate shade, consider turnout and exercise during the cooler parts of the day, and reduce workloads when conditions are particularly hot.

🌡️Horses lose essential salts through sweating, so electrolytes may be beneficial, and after exercise, cool them thoroughly with plenty of water.

🌳Remember that a shaded field can often be cooler than a warm stable.

If you have any concerns about your horse coping with the heat, don’t hesitate to contact your veterinary team for advice. 🐴💧🌳☀️

Waw! 🤩

Congratulations to our clients Amie & Gordon at Rathkenny Stud for rehabbing this tendon injury so successfully.

These scan are only three months apart, and as you can see the huge hole in the tendon has almost completely filled in.
The horse has the all clear to start his ridden rehabilitation work now 🙌

This was achieved solely by the regular use of the water spa and water treadmill with no extra lotions or potions! Quite remarkable.
