Looking for a fun trick that does more than just impress your friends? Teach your dog to back up!

The "Back Up" cue is a fantastic way to improve your dog's body awareness, confidence, and focus while giving them a great mental workout.

Why teach it?
Builds confidence by encouraging your dog to think and problem-solve
Improves body awareness and coordination
Helps create personal space when needed
Can be useful around doorways, visitors, and tight spaces
It's a fun foundation skill for trick training and dog sports

Getting started is simple:
1️⃣ Stand in front of your dog
2️⃣ Take a small step towards them
3️⃣ The moment they move backwards, mark and reward
4️⃣ Repeat and gradually add the cue "Back Up"

Keep sessions short, positive, and rewarding. Most dogs pick up the idea surprisingly quickly!

Remember, training isn't just about obedience; it's about building confidence, communication, and a stronger bond with your dog
