The WHIP IT GAME!

At Hairy Poppins we know dogs are wired to hunt, problem solve and explore.

So today we played the “Whip It” game.

This game gives dogs more than just a run around — it gives them an outlet to fulfill their natural behaviours.

Why we love to play it:

🐾Taps into their instinct to chase, stalk and pounce (and sometimes “kill”)

🐾Works the brain and the body

🐾Builds impulse control (yes… even when they’re excited )

🐾Helps build confidence and focus

🐾And most importantly… the dogs LOVE it

Hairy Poppins are very happy to welcome Claudia to our salon. With almost a decade of experience, including previously running her own salon in Southampton, she brings a wealth of knowledge and skill to the team. Claudia will now be running her own business, Bru_cegrooming from within our salon, sharing the same caring ethos we pride ourselves on.

We’ve had a couple of cancellations, so two grooming slots have become available:
✨ Wednesday 8th – 9am
✨ Wednesday 15th– GONE
These are the only appointments we have until May.
If you’d like to snap one up, please email [email protected] with:
🐶 Your preferred appointment time
🐶 Your dog’s name and breed
🐶 When they were last groomed
This helps us make sure we allow the right amount of time to give your pup the best groom possible. ✂️🐕
To secure the appointment, we will require a small booking fee, which is returned to you at the end of the groom.
Appointments will be offered on a first come, first served basis, so pop us an email if you’d like one of these slots. We’d love to see some more waggy tails next week! 🐕🐾🐾

📢 Client Update 📢

Following a recent review of our services and growing demand for more flexible care options, we’re excited to announce that we will be expanding our daycare offering to include cats 🐱

From next week, we will be introducing mixed-species daycare sessions, allowing both dogs and cats to socialise in a shared environment.

Sessions wil include:
• Unsupervised staring contests
• High-speed chase sessions (dogs optional, cats inevitable)
• Elevated perches so cats can silently judge everyone
• Strategic snack theft and zero accountability
• Emotional support for confused Labradors

Our team have had no training to help support this transition.
We appreciate your support as we roll out this new service and will be monitoring how things progress closely.
