UPDATE - Thank you all so much for your input....hugely appreciated. Obviously my brain is now fried, so will have a good think on all your suggestions, but as you will know, we can't please all the folk all of the time. Next year, I would hope Equine Influenza won't be so prevalent, but tbh, there is very little I can do about the weather.....

As we complete the final wind up of the 2026 post-show admin, it has become clear we will need to make a few changes and alter the 2027 schedule to reflect the entries (or lack of entries) in certain classes / sections over recent years.
It is hugely expensive to put on a show of this calibre, and without the support in certain classes, we are losing money, which is problematic at a time when showing generally seems to be taking a hit across the country - equine influenza and the heat certainly played a part in lower entries at a number of shows, but I am sure cost, including fuel, society affiliation fees, society membership fees all play a part.....
For 2027, it is likely we will remove Ridden World Breeds, Concours, Ladies Hunter, M&M Youngstock and possibly CHAPS classes (we run very close to the CHAPS Championships and get plenty entries in the Open coloured classes, hence lower CHAPS entries).
ID / IDSH classes will also be under review, as will our provision of classes for Veterans.
If you have ideas about classes going forwards which would be popular, please message me. Children join in and are hugely welcome in a large number of our classes, but we will not be looking to add in classes such as lead rein and first ridden, as there are so many other shows locally which offer these.
