At FishCove Aquatics, we’re doing everything we can to keep fishkeeping as affordable as possible for our customers. We understand that everyone has a budget, and we genuinely want to help you get the best value for your money.
But there is something we’d really like you to think about…
It can be frustrating when we spend a huge amount of time talking customers through products, explaining what they need and helping them choose the right equipment, only for them to go away and buy it online.
That's your choice, and we completely understand that price matters.
But what happens when something goes wrong?
We regularly have people bring equipment into the shop that they've purchased online and ask us to look at it. Unfortunately, if you didn't buy it from us, there's very little we can do.
If you buy a heater, filter, air pump or other essential equipment from FishCove Aquatics, and on that rare occasion it develops a fault, we can help sort it out quickly.
And when you're relying on that equipment to keep your aquarium running, time really matters.
A failed heater or filter isn't just an inconvenience. Your fish depend on this equipment. Waiting days for an online retailer to deal with a faulty item could potentially put your livestock at risk.
When you buy from your local aquatic shop, you're not just buying a product.
You're buying knowledge, advice, support and someone who is here to help when things don't go to plan. 🐟
Please support your local aquatic shop. We are here because we love the hobby just as much as you do, and we want to keep it thriving.
If we don't support our local independent shops, eventually we could lose them, and once they're gone, they're gone.

Morning fishkeepers, feed your fish the best, and at FishCove Aquatics you know every item in the shop is tried and tested by us. NT Labs probiotic tropical granular food is given to our fish 3-4 times a week. If you want your fish looking in top condition we cant recommend this food enough 👍

We understand that questions may sometimes feel unnecessary, but they are there for the welfare of the fish and to ensure we are meeting our responsibilities as a responsible pet business.
If you are unwilling to answer our questions or choose to respond with aggression, hostility or threatening behaviour, you will not be welcome in our store.
Our staff deserve to be treated with the same respect that we show to every customer and, most importantly, every animal in our care. 🐠

Healthy Water = Happy Fish!
Regular aquarium water testing is one of the easiest ways to keep your fish healthy and your tank thriving. 🌿🐟
Keep an eye on the key parameters:
🔹 Ammonia – should be 0 ppm
🔹 Nitrite – should be 0 ppm
🔹 Nitrate – keep it at a safe level with regular maintenance
🔹 pH – stable and suitable for your fish
🔹 Temperature – consistent for your aquarium inhabitants
Clear water doesn’t always mean healthy water! Testing regularly can help spot invisible problems before they become serious. 🧪
📅 Tip: Test your water routinely, especially after adding new fish, during a new tank cycle, or whenever your fish behave unusually.

Nice little job this week!
We replaced a split aquarium on a like-for-like basis, with the new aquarium supplied and custom-made by ND Aquatics, our new supplier for bespoke aquariums.
This one is located in a sensory garden for patients with dementia and will soon be home to a couple of goldfish.
To help keep the water crystal clear, we’ve fitted a Pontec PondoRell UV 3000.
A lovely little project, and great to see the aquarium becoming part of such a calming and enjoyable space.
