🌿 World Pet Memorial Day 🌿

Today, on World Pet Memorial Day, we pause to remember the pets who are no longer with us but who left a lasting imprint on the people who loved them. We understand that one of the hardest parts of being a pet parent is having to say goodbye, and our hearts are with everyone who is remembering a much‑loved companion today.

At Lynwood Vets, every pet who walks through our doors becomes part of our story. We remember the nervous first visits, the brave recoveries, the wagging tails, the gentle purrs, and all the little quirks that made them who they were. These moments stay with us. They shape the way we care, the way we support families, and they remind us why this profession matters so deeply.

What a fantastic day! 🐾💚 The Walled Garden Moreton

Thank you for having us and for organising such a wonderful event. We thoroughly enjoyed being part of it and meeting so many lovely people and dogs. It was great to catch up with familiar faces as well as meet lots of new ones throughout the day.

A huge well done to everyone involved in making the event such a success, and congratulations on raising money for two fantastic charities! 💚

If your pet’s vaccination protection has lapsed, and a course of two vaccinations is needed to rebuild immunity, we’ll bring their vaccinations up to date for the price of a regular annual booster!

Lynwood Vets has been part of Dorset’s story since the 1930s, shaped by generations of dedicated vets, nurses, and support staff. Today’s team continues that legacy with the same commitment to compassion, trust, and community.

Duncan had a brilliant afternoon at the ceremony, sitting with Jeremy and Fiona from Ocean Vets and meeting fantastic local business owners. Hearing Lynwood Vets announced as the winner was a proud moment for all of us.

All you need to know for this coming Sunday at The Walled Garden Moreton Dog Show & Family Fun Day! We are looking forward to seeing you there - come and say hello!! 👋

🐶DOG SHOW INFORMATION🐶

The big day is this Sunday 7th June and here's all the important last minute info for the day!

🕐The event field opens to the public at 10am and we wrap up at 3:30pm
📍Moreton, just outside of Dorchester.
🛻PARKING is FREE in our overflow field. There is a second overflow car park just across the road in Moreton too (1 minute walk to our site). Please park responsibly.
💵CASH IS KING: due to the location of the event, signal for card readers can be patchy and we strongly advise cash for any purchases at food vendors, stalls and our charity raffle etc.
☕The Dovecote Café can take card payments as normal for café purchases
🐾Pre-registrations are now CLOSED but you can still register on the day. Each category is £2.50, and each dog entered into the Dog Show allows one free adult into the event!
🎟ENTRY: Adults age 18+ are £4 each - which includes your entry the event field, plus our gardens, Animal Acre, and family play park too.
🎫Under 18s and Season Ticket Holders are FREE
✅Entry for the event can be paid at the Entry Gazebo OR via the Gardens Entry Hut - follow signage on the day (card payments fine for this)
🚾Toilet facilities are available in the family area, and the dovecote café.

🐶Dogs must remain on leads at all times. Please be mindful of, and respect all our visitors and their pups💚

🚶Your are welcome to bring camping chairs and blankets, but please do not block main walkaways around the ring, and be sure to leave space for other visitors.

🌼GRAND RAFFLE – This year, our raffle is raising money for People First Dorset.

We’re working alongside the fantastic team at Staffie and Stray Rescue to bring you a day of Family Fun to celebrate your wonderful pups. We’d also like to send a big thank you to The Pet Experience for sponsoring the event and supplying all the Dog Show prizes!

We can’t wait to welcome you. We have more than 30 stalls, two bouncy castles, skittles, lawn games, axe throwing and a great selection of tasty treats and bites to eat waiting for you. Plus our gardens, play park, and ride-on tractors. Come and make a day of it with us! We look forward to seeing you. 🎉

FOUND -
This stray cat was found in Northmere Drive in Parkstone on Saturday night 30/05 and is currently at Lynwood Vets, Wimborne. He has no microchip and is not castrated. He is estimated around 1/1.5 years old. Once gained trust he’s a very loving boy. Black and white. He’s got the start of tomcat cheeks and the feel of stray fur (fleas included) but no fighting wounds

‼️We have a black and white entire male domestic medium hair cat in our care. He was brought into Vets Now at approximately 7pm on Saturday 30th May. He has no apparent injuries but is not chipped. We think he’s about 1-1.5years old. He was found in Northmere Drive, Parkstone. Please contact Wimborne on 01202 882101 if you think he may be yours‼️

💚 I’m Elin, one of the Animal Care Assistants here at Lynwood, and I’ve been part of the team since 2023. I joined straight after completing my A‑levels, starting out in our Client Care team while I figured out what direction I wanted to take and whether university was the right path for me.

Over time, I realised just how much I loved working with animals. Supporting clients gave me a great foundation, but it also helped me discover that my real passion lay in hands‑on animal care. That’s what inspired me to move into the nursing team and begin my journey as an Animal Care Assistant.

Since stepping into this role, I’ve found huge fulfilment in seeing patients with complex needs gradually return to their usual personalities and eventually be signed off. It’s incredibly rewarding to be part of that process. I’ve also loved reconnecting with patients whose owners I got to know during my time in Client Care.

Another part of the job I really enjoy is spending time in our lab, running blood and urine tests and learning more about the clinical side of patient care. 🌟🥰🐾

💚 I’m Alisha, a student veterinary nurse currently undertaking my apprenticeship and diploma with Lynwood School of Veterinary Nursing. I joined Lynwood in 2022 as part of the Client Care team before progressing to Animal Care Assistant and now into my nursing training.

In practice, I particularly enjoy wound care, bandaging, and keeping our laboratory running smoothly. My favourite part of the role is caring for inpatients - making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved throughout their stay. 🌟🐾
