Yes…you’re seeing that right, a cat picture on a greyhound page! 😂

📢 Help Needed📢

Do we have any followers local to Wickford that may be able to support us with cat testing? Unfortunately our previous family that helped us with this have moved away from the area.

We have a potentially cat workable hound that could have a home waiting if he is suitable - but we need to test him!

The cat must be comfortable/confident with dogs, we don’t want to cause the cat any stress! Naturally the test would be controlled, with the hound muzzled throughout.

If you can help, or would like any more information, please drop us a message!

Thank you! 🥰

It might have been a wet one, but it was a successful one!
Our latest small dog testing saw 5 hounds all pass with flying colours, setting them up well for that step closer to their forever homes!
All of our hounds waiting for homing are small dog friendly 🥳

Well done houndies 🥰🥳

Off he goes! 🥰

This morning, we waved off our little man Boogie with his lovely new mum, sister and granddad! We are so pleased this sweet little guy has found a wonderful home, and sister Bubbles is there to show him the ropes of retirement which we think he will love!

Now known as Mr Bojangles, we just know that he’s got a wonderful retirement ahead of him!

Be a good boy sweetheart, we look forward to hearing all about your adventures once you’ve settled in 💙

Our boy Alaska is still waiting for his home…we can’t be any prouder of this boy - he is a perfect ambassador for the breed and would be ideal for anyone thinking of having their 1st greyhound. Equally he could slot into a family environment with another greyhound girl too!

We haven’t tested him with cats yet so can’t be sure about his suitability on that front, but everything else he has taken in his stride.

If Alaska could be the hound for you please get in touch!

Handsome young man Navy is patiently waiting for someone to come along and snap him up! Isn’t he gorgeous 😍

Navy will be 3 years old in August and is a confident and outgoing young man!

He has his neutering procedure booked in for tomorrow and once he’s recovered we’ll be looking to socialise him ready for his new home!

Please drop us a message if you’d like to come and meet this handsome chap!

Earlier in the week we teased that ALASKA would be going on an adventure this weekend…well what a wonderful time he has had and what a stunningly good boy he has been! Glowing reviews all round from everyone he has met!

A big thanks to HRH Romford Retired Greyhounds for taking this boy on his adventures this weekend - it was great to spend the day with them today, along with the wonderful team from Clarks Farm Greyhound Rehoming Centre too!

This is the gorgeous Alaska’s 1st event and 2nd time out of kennels and my word, we are so proud of him! He has been an absolute ambassador for the breed, taking in cuddles from everyone - both adults and children, mingling with all breeds of dogs, and he even met Darren Gough who is going to give him a little shoutout on his social media for us in the hope his home is just around the corner!
As you can see from the photos, a lot of snoozing was practiced too!

This was not just Alaska’s first event, but also his first time in a home environment. He settled beautifully, was 100% clean and slept all night without a peep from him!

We hope his home is coming soon as this boy is so ready!

This isn’t our normal kind of post and it is disappointing that we have to make this post so please bear with us!

We have never hidden the fact that we are a racing kennels, however this page has always been neutral to racing - we’re not here to push an agenda about racing but rather simply showcase our hounds for homing and those happily homed. We don’t plan to change that!

However, on Wednesday Animal Aid, along with other anti-racing organisations launched a campaign backed by the RSPCA with the heading “Missing, Fallen, Killed” and we cannot simply stay silent on these baseless allegations.
Having taken a couple of days to digest and reflect on the campaign - we owe it to our hounds, our owners, our supporters, the charities we work with and ourselves to set the record straight.

The campaign lists a number of dogs from across the country, some from Burton Lodge, that allegedly are “missing, fallen and killed” - a headline that understandably is disgusting, repulsive and attention grabbing…except it includes baseless lies!
A number our dogs that are listed are in fact retired, many already in homes and homing centres. We wanted to share some of them in the images below, with the hounds racing names, to reassure everyone that these dogs are not missing!

The campaign has asked us to mark these dogs as “found” on their database…but how do you find a hound that was never missing to start with?!

This isn’t about being pro, anti or neutral - this is simply about facts and truth, rather than lies and manipulation.

Our hounds have, and will always be, the front and centre of what we do. Those who have homed hounds from us, along with the charities we connect with, have always had full transparency on our hounds including quirks, traits, eating/toileting habits, racing history, any injuries etc. and we do our best to match hound to home.

We thank those who continue to support us, including the charities up and down the country that help get our hounds into homes.
