The Wonky Donkey Community Farm CIC The Wonky Donkey is now closed to the public. Thank you to everyone who supported us over the years. Emma and James ❤️

Your kindness, generosity, and support will never be forgotten. We are a farm animal sanctuary, we take in donkeys, ponies, sheep, goats, alpacas, chickens, ponies etc that people can no longer look after, may have been mistreated, neglected, orphaned etc. We work with these animals to bring them out of their shells into confident, friendly, loveable creatures that people can enjoy. We offer our animals as a therapy to lots of groups from disabled, people with mental health issues, people with dementia, vulnerable children...the list is endless. We find that people can really relate to these animals, especially if they have a similar difficult background. Animals listen but don't judge and this in itself can be so therapeutic for someone who doesn't want to off load to a person. All our animals have their own story and we find that they can help so many people in different ways. We want to not just take in these animals but offer them to our local community to enjoy aswell 🙂

Urgent Appeal As Blackwood Man Fights Stage 4 Cancer And Desperately Seeks Treatment Options 💙🙏🏻

The family of a 30-year-old man from Blackwood is issuing a heartfelt plea for awareness as he continues his brave battle against stage 4 Nasopharyngeal cancer.

Ioan Thomas recently received the devastating news that his immunotherapy has stopped working and the nodules in his lungs have grown again.

He is now moving onto a new chemotherapy treatment which offers a 60 to 70% chance of a response.

His cousin, Hayley Jenkins, says Ioan is fighting with incredible strength and their entire family is doing everything they can to support him.

His biggest request right now is simply awareness. Ioan is desperately trying to find any information on potential treatments abroad that may help his specific type of cancer.

The family is asking the public to share his story as widely as possible.

They hope that increased visibility might connect them to someone who knows about alternative medical options.

Please share this post to support Ioan and his family, and to help them reach as many people as possible during this incredibly difficult time.

Ryan came out today to clear our vast array of gutters that were growing a whole new world of vegitation! Unlike a lot of contractors, Ryan showed up on time and completed the job in good time. Would highly recommend using him 😀

They say you should never have favourites… but there have definitely been a few over the years who managed to steal a very special piece of our hearts. ❤️

Sadly, some of them are no longer with us 😔. We loved every single one of our animals unconditionally, and we miss them all so, so much.

We miss Tigger, the donkey, and his hugs… and sharing a cup of tea with him in the mornings. ☕️

Our beloved Roy, the sheep, who was always happy to sit, listen and share a biscuit. 🐑❤️

Indie, the alpaca, who would grunt at you every time you walked past without giving him attention. 😂

Mary, the donkey, who would knock on the café door demanding a jam sandwich. 🥪

Donald, the sheep, who followed you everywhere like your very own Little Bo Peep. 🐑

Stud, the sheep, who would shove his head between your legs because apparently scratches were an emergency. 😂

Sev, the alpaca, who wanted endless nose kisses. 🥰

And Mac, the horse, who would actually laugh at you when you were trying to catch him to put his fly mask on… only to then push you completely off your feet while rubbing his head up and down you for affection. 😂❤️

They were all so completely different, but they each left their own little paw… or hoof… or cloven-footed 😂… shaped hole in our hearts.

We SOOOO miss those days. ❤️

The animals may have moved on, but the memories they gave us will stay forever. 🥹🐴🐑🦙❤️

Life has gone tragically boring. There are no animals left to feed and muck out, so I’ve been downgraded to looking after James instead 🫣.

Mind you, things are looking up because for the last four weeks I’ve consecutively won the lottery. A grand total of £14 quid now, so I am officially living the absolute dream. 💅

Now, I’m not being funny, but even with my new high-roller status, James on a roaringly good day still has as much raw charisma as an expired 10p discount coupon for a corner shop that closed down in 2004...

I’m obviously only joking... because we are getting on *famously*! We’re basically like two castaways on a desert island eyeing up the last remaining coconut 🥥—except I’m actively calculating the physics of cracking it open over his skull. No, no, only kidding. It’s just that he breathes so aggressively loud I can actually hear his internal thoughts, and frankly, they sound exhausting. I am NOT qualified for that. In my mind, I’m supposed to be lounging on that deserted beach with a double margarita (funded by my £14 fortune), not managing the chaotic sh*te bouncing around his brain!

Our house is currently locked in a psychological cold war. We have both walked past a violently overflowing bin at least five times today, each pretending it’s a stunning piece of modern art that shouldn’t be vandalised.

Actual human language has completely died out, replaced entirely by low-frequency caveman groans. For anyone visiting, here is the translation guide:

* 2 grunts*= "Pass the remote."
* 3 grunts*= "For f**k's sake, your oxygen intake is offensive, can you stop?"
* 4 grunts*= "I am five seconds away from spoiling the finale of that series you’ve been emphatically binge-watching for three weeks." 😉

Look, we all know he's not 'strictly'that bad... but f**k me, life is boring right now! 🫣
