Great walk with Ted the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, nice and early to avoid the heat. He’s a very good boy, gentle, sensitive and loving.

In recognition of Love Your Pet Day, today we’re celebrating our amazing duo, Gracie & Brody. 🐕🐕

Both German Pointers, with 12 and 11 years of adventures behind them, they may have slowed down a bit now, but they’ve only grown more loyal, loving and full of unique character. The walks are steadier these days, with lots of pauses for snerfing and chewing the odd broken off branch, but they are just as enjoyable.

Gracie brings her gentle, affectionate nature (and a keen eye for treats), while Brody remains ever watchful, focussed, intelligent and devoted (cannot be trusted with socks). They’ve given us years of muddy shoes, strolls in nature, sofa cuddles and unwavering companionship, we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Love Your Pet Day is a reminder that our pets aren’t just animals, they’re family. The memories we’ve made with our dogs, and the happiness they continue to bring to our family every single day is priceless. 🐾💛

Happy 12th Birthday to our Amazing German Wirehaired Pointer - Gracie. 🎂🥳 We rescued you from a dog sanctuary back in October 2019, but really it’s you that has rescued us with all the light and joy you have brought into our lives. Gracie you are a very special soul, an integral member of our family and we love you dearly. ❤️

A lovely walk this morning with our two German Pointers; Gracie & Brody, the best of friends. The dogs were super-well behaved, these days the walks are shorter and much slower in pace, this seems to give me the opportunity to slow my own mind down and enjoy every detail and moment of the walk. Happy days! ❤️🐕🐕‍🦺🚶‍♂️

Bonfire Night is nearly here, but the fireworks have already started! 😤

⛔️ Not all dogs are scared by fireworks, take our two, for example. Brody isn’t the slightest bit bothered, but Gracie is absolutely terrified of loud noises. If the sound of fireworks terrifies your dog there are a few things you can do to help them feel safe and calm this week. ☺️🐾

Here are some simple tips:

🐶 Create a cosy den: Set up a quiet space with their bed, toys, and favourite blanket.

🎵 Play calming or classical music: It helps to drown out the noise and can be soothing for your dog.

🦮🚶‍♂️ Walk before dark: if possible get your walks done early, before the bangs begin.

🦴 Distract with treats: A long-lasting chew or puzzle toy can be useful.

🧣 Wrap them up: A soft blanket or anxiety wrap can help them feel secure.

🏡 Don’t leave them home alone: Your dog will need you with them for support.

💖 Stay close to them: Dogs pick up on our energy, so speak softly and stay relaxed.

💊 Seek Vet Advice: If you’re really concerned about your dog, it’s well worth speaking to your vet about medical aids to give them some relief.
