Hoppy Easter from Medivet Wheatley!🐰🎊

In the spirit of Easter meet Mia the bunny who came in for a castration surgery. Before the surgery Mia was given a premedication injection to make him sleepy enough us to place an intravenous catheter for administering medication, fluids and performing blood sampling 🐇

✨️ Fun fact: Intravenous catheters are placed into the Marginal ear vein instead of the cephalic vein (front legs) unlike most dogs and cats. This is because in rabbits the ear vein is larger and often allows easier access without the need for heavy restraint which can be stressful for rabbits. Plus we think bunnies look super cute rocking an ear bandage! ✨️

Cosmo came in for his monthly laser therapy and he was the most well behaved boy 💙 He felt so relaxed during his laser session he even had a little snooze 💤

Laser therapy 🐾
Laser is a non-invasive and painless therapy for dogs and cats that can help manage pain, inflammation and swelling for conditions like osteoarthritis, muscle or tendon injuries and wound healing. The laser uses infrared light to pe*****te the skin and tissues to help increase cell energy and promote healing 🐕

Laser sessions can be performed by our team of skilled and friendly nurses after an assessment by one of our vets 💚 First laser sessions are free plus treats are always included!🐶🐾
