A lot of questions on the ultrasonic teeth cleaning lately so here is some more info on that! 🦷

So this is Benji having his ultrasonic teeth cleaning - The way this works is the ultrasonic waves mixed with the toothpaste and water creates millions of microscopic nano bubbles that break down and soften tartar and plaque making it easy to remove. The toothbrush cleans 12mm deep so up into the gums to kill bacteria there too. This helps to prevent things like gingivitis.
Did you know that 80-90% of dogs show signs of dental disease by 2 to 3 years old?

After we have used the brush we can then remove any loose/softened tartar / plaque - ( skip to 2mins7seconds on the video for this part) For Benji I'm using my tartar removing tool but at first we used rosewood sticks as they didnt make any noise so we have built up to this over about 6 months of Benji coming around every 6 weeks.
You can also start by introducing the brush element and then giving a hard/ long lasting chew if they are not ready for the second element yet.

It's important to note this is designed for regular use for best results, and it's not a magic wand, severe build up will require a dental at the vets under anaesthetic 🦷💓

Curly/wool coat types (poodles, doodles) & harnesses 😬

As the wet weather comes in I'm seeing so many of these coat types with matting around the areas harnesses sit

Friction from harnesses causes matting if it's not managed so please please please remember to brush your dog around the harness area every time they wear it - taking even more care if they have got wet wearing it to make sure to dry and brush the area.

If your dogs won't strangle themselves consider rolled leather collars for wet walks 👀

Remember to take harnesses and collars off in the house (collars if safe to do so, if not brushing the area atleast daily)
