☀️ Hot Weather Update for Next Week ☀️
Hi everyone,
With the hot weather forecast for next week, I just wanted to reassure you that your dogs’ safety and wellbeing will be my top priority at all times.
To keep everyone safe and comfortable, I may need to make some temporary adjustments to our usual routine, including:
🐾 Moving walks to earlier, cooler times where possible
🐾 Shortening walk durations if temperatures become too high
🐾 Choosing cooler locations such as woodland walks, shaded areas, and places with access to water, including the beach where appropriate
🐾 Providing plenty of water breaks and monitoring all dogs closely for signs of overheating
🐾 Converting walks to home pop-in visits if conditions are unsafe for walking
🐾 Cancelling walks altogether if I feel it is in the best interests of your dog’s health and safety
Please rest assured that I will be keeping a close eye on the weather forecasts throughout the week and will make decisions based on what is safest for the dogs. I will always keep you updated if any changes are needed to your dog’s scheduled walk.
Things you can do at home to help keep your dog cool and safe:
💧 Ensure fresh, cool water is always available
🏠 Keep curtains or blinds closed during the hottest parts of the day
❄️ Use cooling mats, damp towels, fans, or air conditioning where available
🧊 Offer frozen treats, frozen Kongs, or ice cubes as enrichment
🌳 Provide access to shaded areas if your dog spends time outdoors
🚫 Avoid walking dogs during the hottest part of the day
🔥 Always check pavements before walks – if it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for paws
🚗 Never leave dogs in cars, even for a few minutes
👀 Watch for signs of heatstroke such as excessive panting, drooling, lethargy, vomiting, wobbliness, or collapse
Thank you for your understanding and support. As always, your dogs’ welfare comes first, and I’ll do everything I can to keep them happy, safe, and comfortable during the warmer weather.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Doggy’s Day Out 🐾❤️
