Goodbye summer sunbeams, hello autumn radiators! 🍂😸💤

Notice your cat swapping their sunbathing spots for cosy blankets, or begging for a bit extra at dinner? As autumn arrives, cooler temperatures and shorter days naturally trigger changes in your cat’s routine.

We’ve put together a practical guide over on The Cat Butler Blog covering everything you need to know about navigating the seasonal transition, from autumn coat changes to indoor enrichment tricks! 📚✨

Monday Breed Spotlight: The Devon Rex ✨

Hailing from Buckfastleigh, Devon in 1959, this distinctively wave-coated breed stands out for its high cheekbones, oversized ears, and mischievous, elfin appearance.

Key Breed Features:

🧬Genetic Curiosity: The breed originated from a single naturally occurring gene mutation found in a feral kitten named Kirlee.

🐈‍⬛The Coat: Possesses a fragile, rippled coat without guard hairs, giving the fur a texture often compared to crushed velvet or suede.

♨️Thermal Habits: Possessing thinner coats than most domestic breeds, Devon's routinely seek out warm surfaces, lap contact, and radiators to conserve heat.

💨Agility: Anatomically noted for unusually long, spring-like hind legs, enabling them to leap onto tall furniture with minimal effort.

Do you have a curly-coated Devon Rex sharing your home? Share a snapshot in the comments! 👇📸

We cannot recommend The Cat Butler enough! It is an amazing and efficient service that is easily bookable through their website. The website also allows you to specify all the information you want to about your cat, right down to their favourite hiding spots and games to play!

The owner, Sharon, is always on hand to answer any questions or assist with bookings and our cat sitter, Emma, is adored by our cat! She never hesitates to deal with our every request (such as dietary or medication changes), with our cat having multiple accidents, and has looked after our cat since he was little. We totally trust Emma and we know our cat does too! Emma has also helped us out with last minute or emergency visits at short notice and without any issue.

Additionally we always get sent photos and videos of our cat with a short report about how he is every time Emma visits, which is immensely reassuring for worrisome cat parents like us!

We would wholeheartedly recommend The Cat Butler to anyone else and will be loyal users for the future!

Before your first booking, your assigned Cat Butler will come over for a one-off complimentary meeting.🐾 This gives your cat a chance to assess us, and gives you time to show us where the food lives, run through the daily routine, and go over house security or bin days.
You can then head away with complete peace of mind, knowing everything at home is in safe hands

🖤🐈‍⬛ IT’S BLACK CAT AWARENESS MONTH! 🐈‍⬛🖤
Let’s hear it for the sleek, mysterious and often very mischievous members of the cat world! 😻
Black cats have unfairly had a bad reputation for centuries because of old superstitions — but we think they deserve to be celebrated for exactly what they are… fabulous cats! 🖤✨
🐾 They can be just as loving and playful as any other cat
🐾 They have BIG personalities
🐾 They deserve all the fuss, treats and chin scratches
🐾 And yes… they can be surprisingly difficult to photograph! 😂📸
Here at The Cat Butler Molesey, we think every cat deserves the same love, care and attention — whether they’re black, white, ginger, tabby, tortie or a magnificent mix of all of the above. ❤️
So today, give your black cat an extra treat, an extra cuddle and maybe take a photo… if they’ll actually cooperate! 😹
🖤 Black cats aren’t unlucky. They’re lucky to have us! 🐾

🐾 SENIOR SUNDAY 🐾

Meet gorgeous Gizmo, who is an incredible 19 years young! 🎉🎂

At 19, Gizmo has definitely earned his senior status… although we’re pretty sure he didn’t get the memo! 😹

With 19 years of adventures, naps, treats and keeping his humans firmly under control, Gizmo is living proof that age really is just a number. ❤️

Here’s to our handsome senior boy — may the treats be plentiful, the naps be long and the fuss be endless! 🥰🐱

Happy Senior Sunday, Gizmo! 💕🐾
