Winnie in her new summer cut ☀️ She has a beautiful coat but blending thick legs with a short jacket is notoriously difficult as Shihtzu fur is not very forgiving. I'm quite pleased with this ☺️

Has your dog got itchy, sensitive skin?

A quality hypoallergenic conditioner can make all the difference as it both soothes and hydrates the skin but, crucially, it creates a short-term, effective barrier, preventing allergens in the environment from irritating the skin. It's not a complete cure, but it genuinely makes a huge difference in managing dogs with skin conditions. It allows irritated skin to heal and over time, makes a big improvement to skin condition and hair growth.

Molly is prone to itching but my secret weapon in the war against itchy skin has made her coat soft and glossy but also helped reduce the scratching 💪

Puppy's first bath and blow dry. This is Juniper - my home bred Goldendoodle - she is 7 weeks old and just had her first bath and blow dry - they are never too young to start getting used to the salon environment - smells, noises and the physical experience. Being a Goldendoodle she's pretty placid and laid back anyway, but this is the best way to start pups who are going to have to be groomed for the rest of their life. If you have a pup, don't leave it until they desperately need a clip, get your pup in for experience as soon as possible!

Hot anyone 🥵 ??!! Now is a good time to clip off and cool down. I'm grooming mornings only at the moment but do have spaces for those who may have left it a little late to get their dogs summer ready 😎

A clip off is never a groomer's favourite option. It's time consuming and can be an intense experience for a dog if you have to shave very close. The result is usually an unsightly plucked chicken look but the good news is it'll grow back ... in about 8-10 weeks 😁
