🐾 "It can take a long time to get somewhere when you’ve only got small legs."

Always build the foundation of any exercise first — get it solid before you increase distance, add duration, or introduce distractions.

A golden rule of training:
When you add something new, make something else easier.

In this example, we’re working on longer recalls — but keeping things simple, with no other dogs or owners around. Small, steady steps build strong, reliable foundations that last.

Building a Solid Stay: Introducing Going Out of Sight

If you never gently stretch what you and your dog can do, you won’t make real progress. So try adding small, new variations to your exercises — changing just one thing at a time. This approach helps your dog understand the rule more deeply and builds rock-solid foundations.

Start with your dog in a sit and your stay cue. Then, as one new step: open the door, step through, close it briefly so you’re out of sight, then open up and return. Keep it short at first, celebrate every success, and take it slowly — that’s how confidence and reliability grow.

Can you walk your dog, past another dog, without the dog needing to go and interact, a well balanced dog, is able to do so. Your dog doesn’t need to be friends with ever other dog, but it does need to be able to walk past under control. Today I want to show you a small selection of our available dog tags, we have a professional laser engraver and will engrave the information on the tag that you would like, bear in mind, the more info the smaller the writing.
We don’t charge per letter, it’s a standard fee for the tag and engraving combined.
1 tag £7:50 postage included.
2 tags (same wording) £12
2 tags different wording £13:50
Larger quantities ask for a price.

Today we were lucky to be able to expose some of our junior dogs to a good learning experience. A motorised wheelchair, when you get a chance to show your pup new noises and experiences, do so, it helps build your dogs confidence and pups another positive memory in the bank for them.
