Busy weekend full of tail wagging fun!
Saturday started off with puppy class, Scurry dog foundations, followed by two 1:1s.
Sunday started with a 1:1, Beginners scent detection, Scurry dog L1/2 and then Advanced scent detection.

Can you switch off from your businesses? And if the answer is yes, how do you switch off from your businesses?

We always think running your own business means you can work whenever you want and have more down time, but realistically you end up working all the time! Whether it's just admin, working on a new project, replying to clients on days off, catching up on courses, social media etc...

But it is also so important to try and switch off and have a day without doing/thinking about work! So you don't burn yourself out.

So what are your top tips for switching off!?

Bella diving into the week at K9 Adventures Splash zone, We had a great time last night, the girls had a good swim, and then I taught a mantrailing session to a couple of new dogs, who blew me away with how quick they got the game 👏

Biggie learning some gundog exercises.
We worked on emergency stop, steadiness, Hold & drop, and of course retrieving.

This will not only give Biggie an outlet he is bred to do, but all these training exercises are translatable to everyday life. To create a happy fulfilled dog.

Do you know what your dog was originally bred for? Pop them in the comments.

Biggie is a Retriever, they were originally bred to be out in the fields for hours with their handler, walking to heel, sitting steady watching and remembering where all the birds are, gunshots going off, to then follow their handlers directions to go and retrieve the Game, they should do this with a firm but soft grip so as not to puncture the bird with their teeth.

If they aren't trained to use these skills that have been bred in them since 1868! They will find their own outlets, this is why your Retriever steals your socks, shoes, remotes, I could go on 😅.

Puppy freework with Teddy & Woody!

These 2 fluffy potato's are just too cute 😍 They did so well in this session, building confidence, proprioception, learning social skills from each other and also some appropriate play to end the class.
