Come and cheer on Team Nurture at the Wells Moat Race this Monday Bank Holiday!

The team have been very busy behind the scenes building our raft, HMS Flea-B-Gone, ready to take to the water at the Wells Moat Boat Race on Monday 31st August.

The boat has been built, the test voyage has been completed and the fancy dress is at the ready. Now we just need to see whether HMS Flea-B-Gone can stay afloat when it really matters!

The Grand Parade starts at 11am, followed by the racing, and we’d love to see lots of familiar faces there cheering us on.

Look out for HMS Flea-B-Gone and the “Who Let the Dogs Float” team — we’re very excited and perhaps just a little nervous!

Come along, enjoy a brilliant Wells tradition and give Team Nurture a cheer from the banks of the moat.

See you Monday!

Meet Ricky and Reggie!

Ricky and Reggie came to see us at Nurture Vet Hospital in Wells for their check-ups.

We’re told they’re not exactly the best of friends at home, but they were more than happy to put their differences aside and lie next to each other for their visit!

Both were absolute gentlemen and very happy to enjoy plenty of fuss while being examined by the team.

It was lovely to see you both, Ricky and Reggie!

We had some very special visitors at Nurture Vet Hospital in Wells!

While passing through the area on an incredible charity challenge, Janie, Vicky and their four-legged companion stopped in to see us for a blood test.

They’re taking on a huge adventure, travelling from John o’ Groats to Land’s End (JOGLE), following off-road trails as much as possible and aiming to complete the journey on foot in just 42 days. They’re carrying their camping kit with them and funding the entire challenge themselves.

Along the way, they’re raising money for two charities very close to their hearts:

Janie – Crohn’s & Colitis UK
Vicky –

Their lovely dog needed blood tests to check electrolytes and monitor Addison’s disease medication levels while on the journey. They’re using different veterinary practices along their route, and we were very happy to be one of them. We’re also pleased to report we had a very good patient!

It was a pleasure to meet you all. What an amazing challenge — everyone at Nurture wishes you the very best of luck for the rest of your journey!
