☀️ Keep Pets Cool In The Heat ☀️
With temperatures set to reach 39°C this week, it's important to help our furry friends stay safe in the heat 🐾
🐶 Walk dogs early morning or late evening – pavements can become dangerously hot. If it's too hot for your hand, it's too hot for their paws.
💧 Provide plenty of fresh water and keep bowls topped up throughout the day - a shallow paddling pool for them to cool down in can help.
🏡 Create cool spaces indoors with shade, fans, cooling mats, or damp towels.
🚫 Never leave pets in a parked car – even for a few minutes. Temperatures can rise rapidly and become life-threatening.
🐾 Watch for signs of heatstroke, including:
• Excessive panting
• Drooling
• Lethargy or weakness
• Vomiting
• Collapse
🐰🐱 Don't forget rabbits, cats, and small pets - ensure they have shade, ventilation, and constant access to water too.
