It’s been 3 weeks since the swan which hit the power cables was rescued. A course of antibiotics for a deep wound on its wing. Julie Dawson you are a gem for arranging her to be rescued. Shes now back with her mate. 🦢 ♥️ 🦢

Posting on behalf of a contact within the animal welfare arena

This gorgeous boy was recently brought to safety from a dreadful situation where he urgently needed help. He’s been named Kodi, short for Kodiak Bear, and is now staying temporarily in Wellington alongside a female German Shepherd. It’s a safe stopgap, but not a long-term solution.

Kodi is 17 months old and a German Shepherd × Cane Corso. He has happily lived alongside small dogs and children, including babies and toddlers, without incident. That history is encouraging, but any introductions to children or other dogs in a new home should be gradual and carefully managed, with close supervision and safe separation until Kodi has settled and been properly assessed in his new environment.

Kodi is affectionate, biddable and very eager to please. He has formed an extremely strong bond with the gentleman he is currently staying with, stays close by his side and has great recall with him. He has never been out of the house or walked on a lead before, so the outside world is still new to him. He’ll need a committed, patient owner to help him build confidence.

Kodi is a big, powerful youngster who doesn’t realise his size. He requires a knowledgeable, committed home with experience of large dogs, ideally German Shepherds or Cane Corsos, and a sensible, thoughtful approach to helping him settle and learn.

In the right hands, Kodi promises to become an incredibly faithful friend. He has the intelligence, eagerness to please and deep loyalty people love in a German Shepherd, alongside the steadfast devotion associated with a Cane Corso. Beneath all that size and strength is a loving youngster waiting to feel safe, secure and understood.

If you think you could offer Kodi the happy ever after he truly deserves, Lisa.

please message me and I’ll put you in touch.
Thank you for reading. Clare. 🐾
