I didn’t think I would have to make this post as for the past few years we have not had a Summer this long, but due to prolonged hot weather (this isn’t me complaining😉) I will be introducing a new Hot Weather Policy ☀️
If the weather is above 22 degrees Celsius I will not be walking any puppies, overweight, elderly, brachycephalic or dogs with any immune compromised issues or any dog that for whatever reason I deem as vulnerable in the hot weather🏥
Any other healthy breed I will be able to walk up to 24 degrees Celsius 🐶
The humidity does play a huge factor and I will be judging this day by day if it’s above 45% I will drop the temperatures down a little bit, as humidity makes it a lot harder for them to breathe🧘
While safe to walk below these temperatures if I feel it’s necessary for their safety I will stop walks for that reason🛑
I Ofcourse will be walking in shaded grassy areas and carrying lots of bottled water on my walks and be constantly checking for signs of sun stroke, heat exhaustion and dehydration at all times💦
Each day, I will be checking the temperature of the tarmac throughout the day and again aim to get onto grass/shaded areas as soon as🌱
With dry grass does come dry seeds and this is something I will also be checking for after walks and I would urge you to check your dogs also🐾
If I do have to cancel or limit walking time I will still be available for drop in visits to play in the garden, touch up on tricks and play some enrichment games, Ofcourse lots of fuss, replenishing water bowls and keeping them clean and at hand at all times🐕🦺
I will be doing early morning and late evening slots if anyone wants to swap but they are very limited,
Any questions, I am more than happy to answer.
Stay safe in the sun🌞❤️
