We met a very beautiful girl this week - Bella. She’s 12 years old and is struggling with some arthritis.

In her younger days, she loved swimming so her owners thought this would be the perfect therapy for her.

After a bit of initial anxiety, she soon settled and in true Labrador style, was easily bribed with a couple of treats.

She left looking very happy and pleased with herself 🐾🥰💦

This beautiful girl Charlie came to see us this week.

She’s very fit & healthy, but at 9 years old, her mum wants to bring her to some hydrotherapy sessions to maintain her muscle mass, strength & fitness going into her senior years.

Being proactive about these things is great - we have more chance of being able to help your dog the earlier we see them.

And Charlie loves it which is a great boost for her mental stimulation 💦🐾💦

Something a bit different to report this week.

Rodney is a Bernese Mountain dog who was unfortunately diagnosed with hip dysplasia before he was 6 months old.

He’s been coming for regular sessions since then and over the years, he’s done incredibly well and not needed any medication.

He takes part in Carting competitions, as you can see from the amazing picture we have of him. He’s won the fancy dress class as well as the Medals Advance class - which entails an obstacle course, things to go over and reversing.
In fact - Rodney is the top Working Cart Dog - what an achievement, we’re very proud of him.

His owners are especially proud, as hip dysplasia could well have meant he could never have had a cart behind him.

His mum attributes his strength and fitness not only to their own management of Rodney’s condition but also to the regular hydrotherapy, helping keep his muscle mass, strength and ability to do this.

Well done Rodney 🥰🥰🥰🐾💦🐾💦

We received this lovely picture today - Rhea has been coming to hydrotherapy with us for 5 years now & on Monday she heads off to Australia with her family.

When you’re asked if you can help teach a puppy to swim…….who’s gonna say no??!!

Otto is 5 months old and with us this week he was introduced to the shower, a life jacket and swimming in a pool.

He took it all in his stride and his confidence grew so much over his session.

Well done gorgeous boy - looking forward to next time - even more special as he’s my ‘nephew’ 🥰

We get asked a lot - ‘can all dogs swim?’
The answer is no they can’t! To some unbelievable - but it’s true.

We are always happy to help dogs learn to swim in a safe, controlled environment so you can be confident when you’re near water, they can actually swim. 🐾💦🐾💦

We had Fudge and Buster at the pool this week.

Both fit and healthy - Fudge did some sessions a couple of years ago and this week showed her new brother how to swim like a pro.

Buster is only 8 months old, so his owners were keen to introduce him to water in a safe controlled environment.

Safe to say, it was a total success - after a few increasing laps - he soon learned the ropes. Well done Buster 💪💦🐾💦
