🦔🦔🦔 Updates

Debs
Firstly, we would like to thank everyone who has donated to our Ultrasound machine, 💕
we have been able to purchase 1 this week and is in the post 🦔⭐️🦔

In Monday I had Happy, Ozzy Marg and Nelsi.
Happy and Ozzy transferred to Jo Tuesday.
Ozzy came in and was loosing blood in his poo.
He wasn’t in good health and sadly went over the hedgie 🌈 on tuesday.
Nelsi came in from Donny and hasn’t stopped eating since 😍
In Friday we had Greenfield found OITD. He’s has stinky slimy green poo 🤮, but survive the first night. Keep fighting little one.
And finally, after 9 days of feeding all hours, day and night, our 2 little hoglets from Doncaster, could hold on no more. They passed peacefully, safe warm and loved Friday evening.
It was a mammoth task at 2 days old and under 40g, to keep them going, I gave it everything I had. 😭
Please please check before pulling/digging/strimming into what look like a mess of weeds or dead plants. This is more likely to be a nest.

Update from Chelle

Collected from the local vets on Monday was Munchkin. Diagnosed with a respiratory issue, his sample is clear. A course of antibiotics should help this fella.

Eli's final scab has fallen off, so just a few more days of observation are needed, and then he can be wild and free.

Varmint just doesn't want to gain weight and still looks skinny despite being 680g. He won't touch dry food but gobbles his wet as soon as it is put out.

Elsecar update Took in a tiny one last night Marty ,104g , covered in fly strike managed to get lots off concentrating on eyes and ears and syringe fed critical care liquid . Expected him to die before morning . Still with us and has licked up some jelly from cat food .
Alice coming on fine needs 1 more course of wormer before going home
Cobweb is my worst nightmare have given her all available treatments but she is still failing to thrive 😢

Update Hickleton. Milton’s wound making steady progress, if only he’d leave that scab alone!

Rebecca;
Perky and Wheatley are both slowly adding weight.

•Henryetta is doing fantastic and tomorrow goes to Alannah

•Markhog is adding weight just fussy with his food, won’t eat dry but is a piggie with the wet.

•Brianhog is an absolute sweetie and the cut on his nose is looking so much better….

•olive, clover, Almond, Bod and Dylan are all adding weight and eat sleep repeat but my god there all messy and in 5 cages there keeping me busy……..

Ultrasound scanner urgently needed.

Hello hedgie fans.
It’s a mad and crazy time, as we are inundated with orphaned hoglets and juveniles.
This year we have experienced a high number of pregnant females.
Some have come in and are in late stages of pregnancy, we believe,
A quick assessment and transfer to better accommodation is needed urgently in these situations, but also sadly a few females that have come into rescue have then given birth. 😞
The outcome was not good and sadly there have been no surviving hoglets.
This can be due to illness or stress, poor mum panics and nature takes it course.
If we’re able to use an Ultrasound Scanner, we could test females quickly, effectively and efficiently, meaning we can cater better for their needs, rather than cages.
With most expenses already stretched to cover all the specialists foods and equipment for hoglets, juvvies with us,
Medication to buy, We need your help.

A scanner to detect pregnancy with a micro probe, will cost anything from
£400.
If you are able to donate, it would mean so much and every penny counts.
Help us save and help more hedgehogs get back to the wild across South Yorkshire 🦔🤩🦔
