Hello everyone!!!!

A big apology for the radio silence🫣🫣🫣I’ve been working on a few big things behind the scenes, but they are all about to become clear 👀🤍

First of all, I’ve been working towards my LGV C+E and I’m so pleased to share that I passed my driving test last Thursday 🥳
Just the CPC left to do and hopefully I’ll soon be out on the roads 🚛

Which leads me nicely onto the next chapter🐴
As many of you know, I’m really interested in the horsemanship side of the equine world, and it’s something I’ve wanted to pursue for a while now. Over the last few months I’ve been reducing my regular grooming workload to make way for some lorry driving, and that has made me consider that now is the time to branch out to something new…

My aim is that, beginning in 2027, I can shift my focus towards a horsemanship-based business, with a bit of grooming still on the side 🥰

I’m particularly interested in building confidence in both horses and their owners, improving communication, and helping navigate the challenges that may arise along the way 🐴

Over the next few weeks I’ll be posting in groups with a bit more info, and looking for a small group of initial clients to work with while I continue to develop this side of my knowledge and build my portfolio 🙏🏻

It is all still a work in progress, but I am learning more every day and am excited to keep building my experience through real world scenarios 🙌🏻🥰

Did I fall??? Poll over on my instagram, I can’t add one here!!
Question for you all that has been subject of debate for today 😂 but it does of course involve a story!
I was out for a hack with C today, as some will know he is as bombproof as it gets (I think I’ve known him to spook twice in the 2.5 years I’ve ridden him)-so imagine my surprise when we have a little spook today and he shoots forward for a few strides, then stops dead 🤔 I think well what could be going on here, I turn to see a great big thorny stick stuck in his tail- fair enough, that would probably scare me too! So C is stood still (his favourite pace), clearly the initial fright is over and he has put his logical thinking hat back on- and I think let me hop off to get it out… as I am mid swing, C decides the branch is yet again terrifying, and he shoots sideways- leaving me to dismount onto my side in the grass instead of on my feet on the path like originally planned 😂😂
Now I must admit, I found this quite hilarious, especially while I watched him (from the floor, giggling) decide the stick was not scary enough to warrant missing out on the opportunity for a snack 🤦🏻‍♀️😅
But now the question is posed-
Did I fall off???!! Or is it discounted because I was already aiming for the floor😂
Before posting this I have had equal votes for each so I am intrigued to see where it goes 🤔thanks for the read 😝

Now a throwback to last week, my fav show of them all, the Royal Highland ✨🤩 was a long, hard and hot week but well worth it, love the atmosphere here 🤩

One of my favourite things to do with the ponies is work at liberty! If you’re interested, take a look at these two 40 second clips- The first clip is from today, the second clip was taken roughly 9 months ago (it was the first session I was happy enough with our progress to film, but we had been working long before this!). Our progress has certainly taken time, but I’m so proud of what we have achieved so far!! Hoping for a seamless routine very soon, and we are in the process of introducing some new tricks, but I am so pleased watching the difference between these videos and seeing the change!!

And finally, a bit more of a serious post… (photo unrelated🙈)
As a lot of you will have seen, there have been some cases of strangles in the area. I have a duty of care to inform you all that one of the yards with a known case is one of my clients- however, as mentioned in my previous post, I have been working away from the horses for the last month, so would like to reassure everyone I have not been in contact with any known cases and will not be returning to the yard until they are given the all clear 🙏🏻

The yard management are handling the situation as well as possible- with horses, sometimes despite every precaution, these things are unavoidable! I’m wishing all horses affected a speedy recovery and the yard team a smooth and stress-free time as possible ❤️‍🩹

Even though I have not directly been in contact with any known cases, I will still be taking the necessary precautions with knowing it is in the area and the risk of contact with non symptomatic carriers -
I have purchased a large amount of antibacterial, and in line with guidelines, between each yard visit I will be-
- Thoroughly cleaning and dipping my boots
- Changing any outer layers of clothing and keeping used clothes in separate sealed carrier bags
- Liberally disinfecting waterproof clothing
- Liberally disinfecting and regularly cleaning my car interior
- Changing gloves and consistent handwashing
- Refrain from wearing my hat for now (this is going to be the hardest part 😂)

I hope this helps to put everyone’s minds at ease 🙏🏻 While there is always some risk in this line of work, I’m doing everything I can to minimise it and keep both horses and people safe 🫶🏻
