Checking your pets ears should be part of your weekly regime. Give them a good sniff too!!

Some dogs with hairy ear canals may need a little removed via plucking. This will make the ears look red afterwards and could cause some irritation including head shaking.

Too much hair can help create a breeding zone for viruses/bacteria/fungus but some hair is good! We have hairs in our nose and lungs to help protect us.

Dog groomers can remove the hair that is ready to come out and easily visible but your vet should remove any that is causing a problem deep into the canal as this may require sedation and tools to remove it.

Get your dog used to having their ears touched! It’ll make all ear related processes much easier ❤️
