Romany has officially retired from lessons 🖤🤍

She will remain at the centre for a short while before, hopefully, heading off to enjoy her retirement home with a friend of the centre.

Romany has been part of the centre for over a decade! and has given so much during that time. She truly deserves a happy and peaceful retirement.

Happy retirement, Romany 🐴🖤🤍

🐴 SPECIAL PONY WANTED ON LOAN , COULD YOUR PONY JOIN TEAM WRC? 🐴

With winter approaching, we’re looking for a wonderful new pony to join our much loved team at the centre.

If circumstances mean you’re considering loaning your pony out, we could offer them a knowledgeable, caring home where they’ll have a varied and rewarding job within our RDA riding school.

Our horses and ponies are incredibly important to us. The right pony will take part in a variety of lessons with different riders, including our RDA sessions, and become a valued member of our team.

Our ideal pony: • 13.2hh – 14.3hh
• Aged 6–14 years
• Kind, sensible and good to handle in all ways.
• Three established paces.
• Currently in regular work.
• No known health issues or vices.
• Happy living in a mixed herd.
• Sensible enough to enjoy the varied life of a busy riding school.

We’re looking for a genuine all rounder with a kind temperament who enjoys having a job to do. The welfare and happiness of every horse and pony in our care is extremely important to us.

Please contact Lorna on 07912 565677

Behind the scenes… 👀🐴

Our yard staff do a lot more than care for our horses.
When needed, they also help with their training and development. Staff members can be allocated a ‘project horse’ , a horse who needs some extra input in areas that our clients may not be able to work on themselves.

But don’t just take our word for it…

Splash has a few things to tell you! 💚

‼️Edit ‼️

Thank you to everyone who has expressed interest in volunteering! We’ve had a fantastic response and are currently processing applications. Fiona will be in touch once references have been received.

We now have enough volunteers for our Saturday lessons, so we’re not currently seeking additional Saturday volunteers.

Could you spare a few hours on a Saturday to help make a difference?
We are looking for volunteers aged 14+ to help lead horses during our popular RDA and RDA Pony Club sessions.

Our Saturday sessions take place at:

🐴 Supporting our amazing riders to enjoy their time at WRC

Sessions take place in our indoor arena, as well as on short walk-outs.

A brilliant day at the BHS North CPD Day, kindly hosted by the RDA Unicorn Centre . 🐴

CPD days for APC BHS coaches and proprietors are about so much more than training. They’re an opportunity to step away from the day to day, connect with fellow professionals and share the experiences that help us all grow.

We can celebrate achievements, discuss challenges, exchange ideas and solutions, and learn from others who understand the realities of working within the equestrian industry.

We also had the opportunity to tour the yard, learn more about the work of the RDA Unicorn Centre and, of course, meet some of their wonderful horses , always a highlight🐴

There’s something incredibly valuable about bringing passionate, experienced people together ,sharing knowledge, supporting one another and continuing to raise standards across our profession.

A huge thank you to everyone who organised and contributed to such an enjoyable and worthwhile day. Lots to reflect on, plenty of ideas to bring home, and some great conversations along the way.

What a truly special day.

Today was about celebrating some incredible people, communities and charities who quietly make a difference every single day and we feel so proud that our beautiful Delilah was part of it.

We were incredibly lucky to have Delilah nominated for the Animal Award at the BBC Radio Newcastle Make a Difference Awards, and even more amazed that she made it all the way through to the finalists. 🐴

We didn’t take home the award, but that really didn’t matter. As the host said, we are all winners and standing there amongst so many wonderful and inspiring people certainly felt that way.

For us, Delilah has already won.
She doesn’t know about awards, nominations or being a finalist. She just knows how to be Delilah, bringing comfort, love and smiles to the people she meets.

To have the difference she makes recognised in this way means more to us than we can put into words.

Well done, Delilah. You’ll always be our winner. 💚

A huge thank you to EDT for joining us this week for a corporate volunteering day💚🐴

The team got stuck into some much needed weeding around the Fairy Garden and stables, as well as filling bags of straw and forage for the horses.

Your help was greatly appreciated.

Interested in a corporate volunteering or team building day while giving back to the community?
