Andis ZR’s in for service today, although we specialise in Heiniger Clippers we can service most popular grooming clippers.
The ZR’s are far from being our favourite but we do a great job on them.
They do suck in fur which can cause a number of issues including switch faults and overheating, so they do need a regular clean out as you can see on the circuit boards. Full strip down, motor brushes checked/replaced, cleaned thoroughly and new blade drive with correct lubricants used.

It’s been a while since this was serviced!!
The lubricants used (incorrectly) were so old they were almost solidified and causing excess strain on the motor and seizing up the gears 🫣😳🤷‍♂️
Full strip down, thoroughly cleaned and reassembled with new correct lubricants, seals, blade lever etc. Runs and sounds excellent 😇

2 Clippers in today that had been ‘serviced’ only 3 weeks ago, unfortunately whoever serviced them used entirely the wrong grease and a hugely excessive amount, this caused the grease to migrate into the motor on both clippers and burned them out🤷‍♂️🫣🤬

So we supplied and fitted 2 replacement motors, thoroughly degreased both clippers in the parts washer and rebuilt using the correct OEM Heiniger lubricants and they can now go back to work.

It’s a salutary lesson that cheap servicing is not necessarily correct servicing and after having to pay for new motors and clean/rebuild it turned out to be quite an expensive one too 😩

It’s borderline criminal behaviour to charge Groomers for work of this standard but sadly we see and fix this type of shoddy work almost daily 🤷‍♂️

The friendly advice is to only trust your equipment to experienced experts with a long standing reputation for reliability, knowledge and skill, yes it may cost a little more but it can save you ££££’s longer term ✂️

Yes, that will be why your blades aren’t cutting and they’re making a funny noise. Dropping them from a great height never helps 🤔😩
Andis ZR’s are not a favourite here but when we’re asked to help, we do!
ZR’s really do get packed with fur, this affects switches, motors and I’ve even known one catch fire as a result of a fault that ignited the packed fur 🔥
Anyway this is going back, clean, serviced, fur free and working perfectly. All for just £60.00

The Heiniger Opal has a tendency to ‘suck in’ fur, strangely something not common with the Saphir, however it’s important to get these cleaned out and fur free as it can affect the switch, motor and cause heat build up in extreme cases.

Yet another contender in the ‘WTF kind of l**e is this????’ competition 🥴
Smelling pretty funky, the consistency of chewing gum and coating all parts of the internals 🤷‍♂️
Yes, you can always get your clippers serviced cheaper, there are always people willing to undercut the market, use cheap parts, do half a job, use the incorrect lubricants, make a quick few quid and disappear, but if you want them done professionally, reliably, guaranteed and using OEM parts and Lubricants please send them in to us as the leading Independent Heiniger Servicing Specialists in the UK. Using random grease, odd parts only risks burnt out motors, destroyed bearings and costs far more in the long run.

We recommend changing your Andis blade drive every 2-3 months, not 2-3yrs 😳🫣😂
