‼Tick Alert ‼
We have been seeing a lot of ticks about recently!

As the weather gets warmer, and our pets are out and about more it is the time to start thinking about tick prevention!☀

➡So, what IS a tick? 🐜
Ticks are members of the arachnid family (related to spiders and scorpions) that feed off the blood of other animals.

➡Where are they found? 🌱
These parasites are most commonly found in wooded, grassy and heathland areas between spring and autumn, although they remain active throughout the year.

➡Are ticks harmful?
Tick bites can certainly cause discomfort, swelling and sometimes even a cellulitis. Ticks are also carriers of disease, and while not common, Lyme disease can be transmitted via ticks.

➡How to spot a tick? 🔍
Ticks are often big enough to see and they feel like a small bump on your pet’s skin. It’s a good idea to run your hands over your pet after they’ve been outdoors to check for lumps and bumps which may be a tick.

➡How to prevent tick bites?
Regular parasite treatment will stop ticks from continuing to feed. Speak to us and we can advise the best plan for your pet!

🐾 Orla 🐾

We love receiving photos from home📸🏠! Especially a good before and after!
Orla was in seeing vet Gráinne as she had a lump near her shoulder starting to affect her movement. Gráinne was able to remove the lump surgically which meant Orla got to wear some very fashionable bandages for a few days.
As you can see from the photos the wound healed beautifully, and Orla did some very good posing showing off her new & improved shoulder!
Such a beautiful girl and an absolute sweetheart!
💕Well done Orla 💕
