Heritage meets horsepower at our Motor Show Weekender! 🏎️💨

Did you know that cars raced directly through Longleat Estate and the Safari Park in the Lombard Rally over 50 years ago? Now we'll be bringing back the excitement and spectacle with two distinct demonstration runs: a specially created spectator stage set against the magnificent backdrop of Longleat House, and a thrilling Tarmac run inspired by the competitive rally stages Longleat once hosted. There will also be over 100 cars and motorbikes on display, such as the Jaguar XJ220, Ford GT40, Delorean DMC 12 and the Jaguar Series 3 e-Type.

The Motor Show Weekend takes place on 27 and 28 June, the first weekend of the Great British Summer Savings scheme with VAT reduced on Day Tickets 🥳

Pressure beneath the lions' feet 🦁

Behind the scenes we welcomed Gait and Motion Technology and Sunil Dhillon from University of Warwick to Longleat to conduct some groundbreaking lion research utilising Footscan technology 👣

By bringing the lions into one of their multiple joined living spaces and capturing their dynamic foot pressure, the team have recreated the footprint of our former Queen Malaika in the form of a biomimetic tyre, which will emulate the biomechanical structure and movement of big cats 🛞

“By replicating the movements of Malaika and other lions, we are maximising tractive force and weight distribution while minimising soil compaction and damage, meaning soil ecology can be protected.”

This exciting project has already picked up the interest of NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration to support exploratory missions on Mars, and has potential to support farmers worldwide to increase their productivity and produce higher crop yield without expanding into protected wildlife conservation areas! 🚀🌱

Wishing our otters the happiest of World Otter Days!
At Longleat we're home to two playful pairs, one little, one large: Bevan and Sumalee the Asian short-clawed otters and Inny and Gordito the giant river otters. We think both species are otter-ly wonderful 🦦❤️

We are so excited to confirm that you can save VAT on admission tickets and children’s meals as part of the government's Great British Summer Savings scheme! 🥳

This will be in addition to the advanced booking offer we introduced for this year, giving even more value to our day tickets.

The exact details are still being worked out and updates will go live on our ticketing system for both Longleat and Cheddar Gorge & Caves next month - please keep an eye out for more information when we have it!

☀️ Let the kids cool off with our splash pad
