Another Success from Kent with a GSD boy who was a big gobsh*te and his owner wanted to know if it was all noise or if he was aggressive.
When we came to test him with other dogs he was absolutely wonderful, he was so good at body language we could have taken him home to work as an aggression therapy dog!

This was an absolute pleasure to be part of and I hope to see more of this boy running around off lead enjoying social time with other dogs 🫶🏼

💪🏼 After 3 ram packed days of aggression assessments I am now off until Monday, but here’s the last of them in a short reel for you…

Lovely Lenny had a problem with dogs coming near him and would explode at a moments notice, so we did some work with his lovely owner and you can see the difference in the video 💪🏼

Great end to a week full of varied clients, problematic dogs and dodgy sunburn 🥵

Anyone following needs to ask Pamela how much she likes Pet Corrector spray 😂

I tell you what, my Timmy is soooo good at reading body language - just check the end of this clip where he turns to Evil Edna (pug) and just carries on, like ooops no not you I didn’t even think you wanted to play anyway 😂

🐕 Day 1 in Kent over and out ….

I had some super clients come to Little Orchards Dog Paddock to see me today, we had some fun in the sun ☀️

All the dogs worked their socks off, little Timmy even came out to see a huge variety of breeds and personalities and he did amazing, at 12 weeks old he is showing some great qualities for an aggression therapy dog 🙌🏼

Annie travelled up to spend the day with us as she couldn’t be with us for the week sadly 😕

Always a treat for me to be asked to work alongside Pamela ( whoever that is - is she famous ?)

No one gets fed unless they’re calm in my house 💁🏼‍♀️

I don’t speak to them and keep putting them in a sit, if they’re jumping around or pestering me I just stop what I’m doing until calm happens again, that can be standing/lying or sitting I don’t care, calm is what gets fed.

I never ever get my dogs into a sit and make them wait while I put the bowl down and then wait until I say ‘ok’ because that increases excitement around meal times and can cause the dog to eat quicker, which causes numerous issues!

Ok - does not mean an explosive reaction to eat, what gets food is calm dogs 🐶

Generally my dogs only eat from a bowl at the end of the day when we haven’t used the food allowance training 💪🏼🐕

It’s like juggling every day with a puppy, we learn something new and get good at it and something else falls off because we haven’t learnt to juggle so much at once 🙈😂

Timmy is good at settling without me in a crate and I’ve spent so much time and energy on that, all the things I wanted to start with him have taken a back seat, so I thought I’d start addressing that today 💪🏼

He’s been avoiding me once he’s got the dummy in his mouth which I do not want to ate as a habit! Alongside what I’m doing in the video I’m actually really working on his recall LOADS!

Recall is more important than retrieve as without recall you’ll not have a retrieve, if you think a dog will want to come back to you with a high value item when they won’t recall without it, think again 😂

Timmy came to say hello in an assessment today to see if a puppy could encourage this little spaniel out from hiding…

But look at his body language already, he doesn’t rush up at her or do silly puppy things he watches her body language and acts appropriately, I think this is amazing for a 12 week old puppy!!!

If he stays on track with everything he’s going to be a brilliant aggression therapy dog 🐕 🎉🙌🏼

Try taking your puppy out solo for walks, training sessions, coffee shop visits, or even just a trip to the pet shop. These one-on-one adventures help them learn to:
✨ Explore new environments independently
✨ Build confidence without relying on another dog
✨ Strengthen their bond with you
✨ Develop resilience in unfamiliar situations
✨ Prevent over-attachment to other dogs.

A confident puppy is one who can handle new experiences and recover from challenges on their own.

If you have multiple dogs, make solo outings a regular part of your puppy’s routine. Your future adult dog will thank you for it. ❤️
