🚑 Heatstroke is a medical emergency. If you suspect your dog is suffering from heatstroke, move them to a cool area, offer small amounts of cool water and contact your vet immediately.

Remember: Heatstroke can happen surprisingly quickly, even on days that don’t feel particularly hot. Puppies, older dogs, flat-faced breeds and overweight dogs are especially at risk.

Today I found our first tick of the season on a dog in the salon.

Ticks are becoming more active as the weather warms up and can be picked up during walks in long grass, woodland areas, parks, and even some gardens.

Please take a moment to check your dog regularly, especially around the ears, neck, armpits, groin, and between the toes. Early removal reduces the risk of disease transmission and helps keep your pet comfortable.

I’ve included some information slides to help you identify ticks and understand what to do if you find one.
