Harriet recently sent me this, it is VERY rare to see Bustle like this nowadays, I am glad she felt able to have such an energetic outburst! Adorable old girl. Arthritis who?!

Here is me and my most mischievous case study! 🤎 He made me really dig deep into my focus and intent on Friday. We did it though, we got a whole session under our belts which we haven't been able to do the last few times I have tried so that's a great achievement!
He has learned a new trick, he slowly moves backwards away from his tie up point so that you notice, then holds his lead rope under tension so either you carry on with the thing you're doing and let him break it (not a habit to encourage!), stop what you're doing and ask him to move forward or ignore him and walk off in the hope he is doing it to get a reaction and will stop if you ignore him. He is a clever chap!
I also discovered a new favourite way he likes to be fussed-rubbing his muzzle side to side, which is dicey as he does like a good nibble of me but he really enjoyed it 😆
We never know what is going on in their heads but I try to roll with their quirks!

NEIGH is so important to the equine world. I love doing my case studies there 🥰
When I was home educating my daughter, it was one of the best and most welcoming groups we attended.
I have also attended a mother/daughter donkey agility session, a Christmas fair, open days, Beacon Festival and a family session where Tim introduced us to the pigs and we spent time with all the other lovely herd members too. They offer so much to so many 💚
Lins has been a fabulous advisor to me many times when I've needed her knowledge and always wants the best for ALL animals, not just those that live at her sanctuary.

Hi everyone. Thank you for supporting NEIGH (Watlington Hill Farm Sanctuary), whether you're new to us or have been supporting us for a while, we appreciate you AND we need your support now more than ever now.

We're in a position where NEIGH has 2 weeks worth of money left for hay. Our animals get through 8 bales a week. At £60 a bale that is £480 every week.

Hay costs will increase and soon.

Due to the drought this summer we have had to feed hay all through the usual grazing months and now hay is in ever more demand across the country. We've also had a lot of unexpected vet bills totalling more than £4000! It's just been a year like no other for the sanctuary.

We are embarking on our biggest fundraiser ever to fund bales for the colder months. We hope that by May there will be some grass to eat but until then we need your help to raise £15,000.

Danny decided he'd pull a new toy from the storage area (that he broke!) so I thought I'd see if I could get him to be curious about it with me around, in preparation for experiencing new things when he goes out and about.

Harriet sends me nice videos of Bustle often which I love and appreciate. When editing this so I could share it without Bustle's bum being the vocal star of the show, I swiped through this filter and thought it was funny/terrifying! 2 headed Bustle Beast!

I saw him and 2 ponies yesterday and they are definitely all getting prepped for winter, they will be so fluffy soon!
I had a lovely time with my Exmoor case studies last night, even though it was dark (boo hiss boo!). They are so clever and communicative. Definitely staying top of my favourite breed list. 🐴.

2 beauties, very different but each wonderful. Being short, it's physically easier for me to work with a Plum sized pony but Lisa is so elegant and so gentle in nature, it is a pleasure to work with her too.

Lisa took a while to warm up to our seasion on Monday but when she got there, she REALLY got there and didn't want me to disturb her processing peace. Abingdon RDA

It's a skill knowing when to go back in after a processing break. Some horses make it obvious and some would stay in that moment all day but then they can get a bit "overcooked" as my instructor says so we need to gently bring them back into the room.
