‼️DOG OWNERS PLEASE WATCH OUT FOR THIS SCAM‼️
There is a scam doing the rounds on Facebook that I really want to make people aware of.
Fake mobile dog groomers are commenting on local Facebook posts where people are asking for recommendations. They offer their services, take a deposit to secure an appointment, and then unfortunately never turn up.
As a dog groomer myself, there are some big red flags I want you to look out for.
🚩 Look closely at their photos. Many of these accounts appear to be using AI-generated images. The backgrounds are completely different, the dogs look like they’re being groomed in random houses rather than inside a mobile grooming van, and the pictures just don’t look consistent or genuine.
🚩 Check their page. Do they have hardly any followers? No genuine reviews? Very little history of actual grooming work?
🚩 Look at how they find their customers. Are they repeatedly jumping into local Facebook groups whenever someone asks for a groomer recommendation, pushing people to book and pay a deposit?
None of these signs alone proves an account is a scam, but if several of them add up, please be cautious.
Before paying any deposit, ask for genuine recommendations, check independent reviews, look for a consistent history of real grooming work and ask questions about their business. If you’re unsure, don’t rush into sending money
