The Hund Haus - Working Dogs

🐾 It’s not always about catching the bad guys…

Sometimes, the most important job a police dog can do is simply find someone who needs help.

We were incredibly proud to see one of the dogs we supplied, PD Delta, recently recognised by South Wales Police after being called in to assist officers searching for a vulnerable missing person in Pentrebane.

After picking up a track, Delta worked through thick woodland with her handler and successfully located the missing person, who was then taken to hospital and given the care they needed.

This is what working dogs are all about. It’s not always chasing criminals, finding drugs or making arrests. Sometimes it’s using their incredible noses, determination and training to bring someone home safely.

We’re proud to play a small part in providing dogs that go on to make such a difference and even prouder to see Delta doing exactly what she was trained to do!

Good work to Delta and her handler!

🐾 Good work, Delta!

It’s just one example of the important work our police dogs do, using their specialist skills to help find vulnerable people when they’re needed most.

🐾 A proud day for PD Scar! 👮‍♂️🐕

Scar is now officially licensed as a Police Dog — a fantastic achievement and a real credit to the hard work that has gone into developing him.

He has done exceptionally well with his handler, who has put countless hours of time, patience and dedication into bringing out the best in him, alongside the instructors who have guided them throughout the process.

It’s been brilliant to see Scar develop into the confident, capable and well-rounded working dog he is today. His progress is a testament to the partnership between dog and handler and the commitment from everyone involved.

Congratulations to Scar and his handler — thoroughly deserved! 👏🐕‍🦺

🐾 PD Delta strikes again! 👏🚔

An outstanding result from our incredible four-legged crime fighter. 💙

In the early hours of Sunday morning, PD Delta was deployed to a burglary at Marks & Spencer, Ty Glas Retail Park. Picking up the suspect’s scent from the smashed window, she tracked with incredible determination through the area, past McDonald’s, a rugby club, and across several roads - leading officers directly to the suspect.

The male was arrested, charged with burglary and possession of a bladed article, and appeared before court just 31 hours later, where he pleaded guilty. Sentencing will take place in August.

This is a fantastic example of the skill, dedication and hard work our police dogs and handlers bring to keeping our communities safe. 🐕‍🦺💪

Well done, Delta! Another outstanding track and another offender brought to justice. 👏🐾
