🌙🐶 WALKING YOUR DOG AFTER DARK? 🐶🌙

The evenings are getting darker, so it's time to make sure you and your four-legged friend are easy to spot on those evening walks! 💚

✨ Stay visible with:

🟢 High-visibility or reflective collars
🟢 Reflective/high-vis leads
🟢 Reflective harnesses
🟢 High-vis coats or vests
🟢 Clip-on LED lights

🚗 Choose well-lit routes where possible and take extra care around roads.

🔦 Don't forget yourself! Reflective clothing and a torch can help make you more visible to drivers, cyclists and other walkers.

🏷️ Check your dog's ID – make sure their collar/tag is secure and their microchip details are up to date.

🐾 And keep an eye out for hazards that can be harder to spot in the dark, such as uneven ground, fallen branches and other obstacles.

🌙 Stay safe, stay visible and enjoy those autumn walks! 🍂🐾

🍂⚠️ AUTUMN HAZARDS – WHAT SHOULD PET OWNERS WATCH OUT FOR? 🐾

Autumn walks are one of the best things about the changing season, but there are a few hazards hiding amongst those fallen leaves! 🍁

Keep an eye out for:

🌰 Conkers – can cause illness if eaten and may cause more serious problems.

🌳 Acorns – can cause illness and may also pose a choking or blockage risk.

🍄 Mushrooms & fungi – some can be toxic, and it can be difficult to tell which are safe.

🚗 Antifreeze – extremely toxic to cats and dogs, even in small amounts.

🍂 Mouldy food & compost – can contain toxins that can make pets very unwell.

🌿 Plants, berries & bulbs – some can be harmful if eaten.

🐾 Keep curious noses away from anything they shouldn't eat!

If you think your pet has eaten something potentially harmful, contact your veterinary practice as soon as possible. Don't wait for symptoms to appear.

🚫 Never make your pet vomit unless a veterinary professional specifically advises you to.

🍂 Let's keep those autumn adventures safe! 🐶🐱💚
