🌟Meet the team Monday🌟

This week we start the Vets at the clinic,
Our first vet featuring on meat the team Monday is Maria!

Here is what Maria has to say about herself ⬇🐾
'I grew up in Ohio in the USA and moved to the UK in 2000. I originally trained as a geneticist but swapped my microscope for a stethoscope in 2003 and never looked back. After 17 years in practice, I still enjoy my job (almost!) every day. The best part of being a vet is getting to know my clients and seeing the love they have for their pets. I have a special interest in cats and I completed my post graduate certificate in feline practice in 2019. Outside of work, I can usually be found on the beach with my two silly spaniels or swimming in the sea, no matter what the weather'.

This weeks meet the team Monday is Helen, she is apart of our nursing team🐾🥰

Here is what Helen says about herself⬇
'I have 20 years of experience in the veterinary industry and 11 years experience as a qualified RVN. I bring a wealth of knowledge, care, and passion to my role. I have a special interest in diagnostic imaging, anaesthesia, and schedule 3 procedures. I am always keen to keep learning and developing my skills.
I am known affectionately as the “mad spaniel nurse, as I have a soft spot for Cocker Spaniels and am never far from a wagging tail. Outside of work I am happiest outdoors, whether that’s dragon boating, scuba diving or exploring nature with my canine companions'.

This is Ella, she is one of our veterinary nurses🐱

Here is what Ella has said about herself:

“I recently qualified as a veterinary nurse, and I love getting to know all the animals that come through our door. I especially love inpatient care as well as being on consultations, where I get to meet lots of different patients and help them feel safe and comfortable.
Outside of work, I enjoy going to the gym, spending time in the yard with my horse Milly or just spending time with my cat Suki and dog Kobi”🐾

🌿GRASS SEEDS🌿
This video is a visual representation of just how quickly grass seeds can latch onto a pet and work their way into the fur/ skin🐾
The movement of the swab demonstrates the action of your pet when their walking after a grass seed has stuck to their coat 🐶
With their sharp edge and backward facing barbs they puncture and work their way through quickly🐾

❌ After just 20 seconds they had penetrated through the swab and out the other side ❌

Be sure to check your pets:
✅paws
✅armpits
✅ groin
✅ears

After every walk to catch them before they become a foreign body that needs to be surgically removed🐾

🌟Sebastian🌟

This handsome little chap is just nearly three months old, he came to us for x rays which confirmed he has broken one of his little legs after tripped over a toy🥺 🦴

He is on the road to have this repaired so he can go back to bouncing round with his toys 🧸

🌟 Meet the team Mondays🌟

This is Bex, she is another one of our veterinary nurses🐱,
Here is what Bex says about herself:

“I have worked in Veterinary for 5 years and qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse In 2024. I have a particular interest in Inpatient Care, Anaesthesia, Medicine and Canine and Feline Behaviour. I am a crazy spaniel loving nurse who is a mum to a working cocker spaniel who loves duvet days as much as he loves exploring. I am also a mum to two crazy cats, who are brothers, but couldn’t be more different.
Outside of work, I enjoy travelling and exploring new places and engaging in other cultures. Other than travelling you will find me mainly on the Netball court, on the water on a paddle board or spending quality time with family and friends”. 🐾
