I took some lovely pictures of Pablo on our walk today, honestly he is there. 10 points for anyone that can spot him in every picture. The last one is just to prove he was there! 🤣

🚫🐾 Walks are cancelled Tues 26th May🐾🚫

If your dog walker is cancelling walks this week and offering pop-ins instead, it’s not because we “can’t be bothered” or want to enjoy the sunshine ourselves — it’s because your dogs’ welfare comes first.

In these temperatures, the risk of heat stroke is very real, and no walk is worth putting a dog’s life at risk.

Please remember: when we close or cancel walks, we also lose income. We make these decisions because we care more about your dogs’ safety than making money.

It’s honestly heartbreaking to still see people walking dogs while it's so hot.

Please keep your pets safe this week. 💛

🐕Macy needs a walking companion! 🐶

Macy is an older lady that enjoys a quiet amble around Stanley nature reserve on a Friday morning. She is looking for a friend to join her on her weekly walks, as we recently lost her previous walking buddy 😢

So if you have an older dog in need of a dog walker, that can manage a 30/45 minute slow paced walk. That would enjoy joining Macy and her dog walker for an hour out of the house. With plenty of sniffing stops and time to watch the ducks and geese then get in touch and we can have a chat.

I shared this 3 years ago, but it's still very relevant today.

Recently I read "If you have a dog walker, you shouldn't have a dog."

This is my boy, he has a dog walker 2 days a week, on my busiest days. The days when I'm too wiped out to offer him the decent romp in lovely natural environments that he deserves.

'Dog walker' is such an understated title.

These guys are the bridge between the modern reality our dogs have been thrust into, that's so at odds with their genetics.

The vast majority of dogs were not born to be content with 15 minute pavement walks, but you need to work to pay the bills. I get it.

Did you know behaviour problems rarely occur in nature?

Our dogs are captive animals.

Sit with that one as long as you need.

They were not designed for sofa snoozing and short restrictive walks on a tight lead on paved ground.

When behaviour problems occur in captive zoo animals, we recognise it as the wrong environment for these animals to thrive....

In dogs, we just shoot for compliance and slap on a lazy excuse like 'dominance' or 'stubborn'.

Good dog walkers are a modern day gift to our dogs, and if you use one, you are an ace guardian who chooses to recognise the innate needs of your dog, and respect them for who they are.

You're not a lazy guardian; you're an enlightened one.

Huge high five to all the dog walkers out there, including my own Paw Legged Friends Dog Walking and Pet Sitting Wakefield - thank you for making our restrictive, modern world a better place for our four legged friends 💛

Friday mornings are slow paced with these two OADs (old aged dogs!) We take it nice and steady, lots of sniffing and of course about 30 minutes of waterfowl watching!😂 It's been lovely to be able to adapt one of our walks to cater for two of our long term older doggos. I treasure every moment I get to spend with them.🥰
