What Vet Nurses Do! 🐾

It’s a role we know well here at Paragon—but do you know what a Veterinary Nurse does?

As well as being incredible, compassionate caregivers, our nursing team are highly skilled professionals who play a vital role within a referral setting.

Our nurses wear many hats and work across multiple departments—they’re phlebotomists, radiographers, anaesthetists, pharmacists, teachers, leaders and coordinators of care… and the list really does go on!

Delivering high standards and exceptional care every single day 💙

Happy VNAM! 🙌

Afternoon tea for our amazing nursing team 🍰🧁

To continue our celebrations for Veterinary Nursing Awareness Month (VNAM), our team enjoyed a well-deserved afternoon tea yesterday – a perfect chance to pause and recharge after caring for our patients.

This week’s VNAM theme is Mental Health Awareness, and while our nursing team show incredible kindness and selflessness every day, it’s just as important to take a moment for yourself and prioritise your own wellbeing 💙

A big thank you to Sam, our Head of Nursing Services, for putting this together for our wonderful team!

✨ Introducing… Ewelina! ✨

We’re delighted to welcome Ewelina to our Cardiology team here at Paragon Referrals 🫀

Ewelina is a European Specialist in Veterinary Cardiology, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience with her. After graduating from Warsaw University of Life Sciences, she moved to the UK where she has continued to develop her expertise through internships at Chestergates and Cheshire Cardiology, followed by three-years of residency training at the University of Edinburgh.

Her clinical interests include congenital heart diseases, interventional cardiology, and feline cardiomyopathies—so she’s already a fantastic addition to our specialist-led team 🐾
Outside of work, Ewelina enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and practising yoga 🌿🧘‍♀️

Please join us in giving her a warm welcome to Paragon—we’re thrilled to have her on board to further strengthen our amazing Cardiology service and offerings to our much loved patients 👏

💚💙 Clients, we need your help! 💙💚

From tomorrow and throughout May, we’ll be celebrating Veterinary Nursing Awareness Month ( ) – and we’d love you to be part of it.

Our Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVNs) and Student Veterinary Nurses (SVNs) give so much every day — skill, compassion, patience and care — often quietly and without recognition. Alongside the BVNA (British Veterinary Nursing Association), we’d love to especially recognise those who made a real difference to you and your pet.

If an SVN or RVN at Paragon supported you during a difficult time, showed exceptional kindness, or cared for your pet with genuine love and dignity, please take a moment to complete this short nomination form 👉

A huge well done to Charlotte, one of our incredible veterinary nurses here at Paragon! 👏

Charlotte took on the London Marathon this weekend – a phenomenal achievement that takes huge determination, strength, and commitment. She ran in memory of her mum, Belinda (known lovingly as Bee 🐝), raising vital funds for the British Heart Foundation to support life‑saving research. Read more here: https://ow.ly/azcE50YQXEs

Congratulations on this amazing achievement, Charlotte. The whole team is incredibly proud of you 💙💚

🐾 World Veterinary Day 🐾

Today we’re celebrating the people behind the care – our amazing team here at Paragon and colleagues across the profession and around the world 💙

Veterinary medicine can be challenging, but it is also incredibly rewarding. It asks so much emotionally, physically and mentally, yet day after day people continue to show up with compassion, resilience and determination to care for animals when they need it most. That truly deserves recognition.

From our vets and nurses to patient care assistants, student nurses, interns and residents, alongside our client care and support teams, your skill, compassion and teamwork make a difference every single day.

Thank you for everything you do for our patients and their families 🐶🐱✨

This week is Veterinary Receptionist Awareness Week, and we want to take a moment to celebrate our fantastic admin and client care teams at Paragon Referrals.

More often than not, you are the first port of call for worried pet owners and referring vets in need of support. You juggle countless tasks, keep many plates spinning, and play an incredibly important role in everything we do.

We couldn’t be prouder of you all. Thank you for the incredible work you do every day — often unseen — that keeps us moving forwards 💙

✨ Welcome Giulia ✨

We’re delighted to introduce Giulia Specchia, our new Internal Medicine specialist here at Paragon 🐾

Giulia graduated from the University of Milan in 2017 and spent her early career gaining valuable experience in general practice in both Italy and the UK. With a growing passion for complex medical cases, she went on to specialise, completing her rotating and specialist internships and residency in Internal Medicine at a busy referral centre in the Midlands. Earlier this year, she achieved her European Diploma in Small Animal Internal Medicine – a fantastic milestone! 👏

Giulia has a keen interest in endocrinology – looking after pets with hormone-related conditions such as diabetes, thyroid disease and adrenal disorders – as well as hepatology, which focuses on liver health 🧬💙

When she’s not at work, you’ll likely find Giulia hiking, travelling, or curled up on the sofa with a good book and her two much-loved cats 📚🐱🐱

We’re so pleased to have her as part of the Paragon team to service our referring vets and care for our patients.
