“It’s just dog breath.” 👀

It’s one of the most common things we hear - and one of the most common signs of dental disease in dogs.

Bad breath is usually bacteria.
And by age 3, most dogs already have some level of periodontal disease.

The difficult part?
They still eat.
They still play.
They still act completely normal.

But that doesn’t mean their mouth is healthy.

Dog dental disease can lead to gum infection, loose teeth, pain, and in advanced cases may contribute to wider health issues over time.

Signs to look for:
• Smelly breath
• Yellow or brown tartar build-up
• Red or bleeding gums
• Dropping food
• Sensitivity around the mouth

A simple dog dental check can catch problems early and prevent more serious treatment later.

This little gentleman has just been castrated and is recovering beautifully 💛

Neutering guinea pigs helps prevent unwanted litters, reduces certain health risks and allows males and females to live together safely. Although it is a routine procedure, it still requires careful anaesthesia, appropriate pain relief and close post-operative monitoring.

At Paws and Co Vets, we provide surgical care for dogs, cats and small animals - including rabbits and guinea pigs. Every patient receives personalised care, thorough monitoring and a calm recovery environment.

Help us find this cat’s family

This evening, a cat was brought to us at Paws & Co Veterinary Centre after sadly being involved in a road traffic accident.

The cat was found in the Rothwell area, outside Royds Cat Hotel.

Details:
• Domestic long hair
• Ginger with white markings
• Entire male
• No collar or microchip

We know someone may be missing him, and we would really like to help his family have answers.
