⭐️National SQP Week⭐️

A large proportion of the SQP role is working collaboratively with farmers, vets, and the wider farm team. This allows us to provide practical advice, promote best practice, and help ensure livestock receive the highest standard of care.

By combining knowledge and experience, we can support proactive herd and flock health, improve productivity, and contribute to a sustainable future for British agriculture.

⭐️National SQP Week⭐️
As SQPs, we’re here to provide advice on responsible worming strategies and parasite management. One tool that can support your control plan is Clik, helping to protect sheep against blowfly strike during high-risk periods.

Want to learn more about how Clik could fit into your flock health plan, or want to know about our Clik service…then give us a call ☎️

⭐️National SQP Week⭐️
Being an SQP involves much more than simply supplying animal medicines. It requires dedicated training, in-depth knowledge, and ongoing professional development to ensure animals receive safe and effective treatment.

To become an SQP, you must complete a recognised qualification covering areas such as animal health, medicine legislation, responsible use of veterinary medicines, parasite control, and disease management. This is followed by rigorous examinations to demonstrate competence and understanding before registration can be achieved.

The learning doesn’t stop there. SQPs are required to undertake regular Continuing Professional Development (CPD) to keep their knowledge up to date with the latest industry guidance, legislation, and best practice.

🌟National SQP Week🌟
Did you know that SQPs can prescribe and supply POM-VPS vaccines for livestock?

By working closely with farmers, SQPs help ensure vaccines are used correctly and as part of a proactive herd or flock health plan. Their expertise supports disease prevention, animal welfare, and farm productivity through timely access to vaccination products and advice.

Vaccination remains one of the most effective tools for protecting livestock health, and SQPs play a key role in helping farmers make informed decisions about disease prevention.

If you'd like to know more about the POM-VPS vaccines we stock, please give us a call!

🌟National SQP Week🌟
A key part of the SQP role is ensuring anthelmintics are prescribed and supplied responsibly. Rather than treating routinely, we encourage evidence-based parasite control. Faecal Worm Egg Counts are an important tool in this process, helping to determine whether treatment is necessary, supporting efforts to reduce anthelmintic resistance.
With our in-house Ovacyte machine, we can carry out testing quickly and efficiently, allowing us to provide timely responsible advice. 🐑🐄🪱
