Fluffy puppy Bella in for her first ever groom 💜

What is the aim of a puppy groom?

• Begin to get very young dogs comfortable with the grooming process

•Introduce them to all the sensations and sounds that typically accompany grooming

•Shave out paw pads, trim nails, tidy feet, face and sanitary area to make them comfortable in day-to-day life

Puppy grooms are not about vanity but purely to desensitise them to being groomed, make their coat more manageable for them and their owners as well as make the experience calm, kind and comfortable.

This pretty girl had the most gorgeous long coat without a single knot or tangle, we love when owners start to introduce simple grooming at home like bathing and brushing!

To all my lovely clients and friends, be very very careful walking your dogs in Cannock Chase at the moment! Keep your dogs on leads around bodies of water and bring your own bottles of water for your dogs so they don’t drink potentially contaminated water!

⚠️ Blue-green algae has been found at Chasewater and Cannock Chase Country Park

It can make people ill and can be potentially fatal for pets.

Please:
⛔ stay out of the water
⛔ keep children away from affected areas
⛔ keep dogs on leads
⛔ do not let pets swim in or drink from the water

Signs are up at both country parks to warn people about the blue-green algae. It can take several weeks to clear, and we’ll share updates when we know more.

If you or your pet become unwell after contact with contaminated water, contact a doctor or vet straight away for advice.

Rosie’s first puppy groom! 💜

She was so beautifully behaved and it was obvious the work her owner has already put into her, excited to see this lovely girl again!

PS, taking pictures of puppies is no easy job so thank you to my lovely colleague (CMD Dog Grooming ) for holding up her dog to keep Rosie’s attention lol 😂

Big friendly Teddy was in for a de-shed and tidy today 💜

Shedding and compacted fur in double coated dogs can make warm weather feel even warmer for these loveable breeds, it’s important to help them shed that excess fur especially as the weather becomes hotter.

As an owner of a double coated breed, I understand the feeling of your freshly hoovered floor getting covered in fur again in less than five minutes. A de-shedding service can minimise the amount of fur you find decorating your house and clothes as well as make this warm weather more comfortable for your dog.

🥵🥵Hot Weather Notice 🐶

With the hot weather forecast, the salon may become too warm for dogs during the hottest part of the day. We feel it’s unsafe for their welfare, therefore appointments booked after 12pm on 8th & 9th July will be rescheduled and Friday 10th we have decided to close.

If you would also like to cancel please let us know, in all honesty it would be the sensible option in this heat especially if your dog is old, has health issues, overweight or you have no transport to get to us.

Thank you for your understanding as we always put the dogs’ safety first. ❤️

☀️ Another heatwave is approaching, what does this mean for your dog’s grooming appointment? ☀️

Your dog’s health, safety and welfare will always be our top priority. This means when temperatures begin to soar, your appointments may need to be adjusted to accommodate the weather. Due to the added heat of dryers, your dog may not be fully dry by the end of their appointment and have some damp spots, we may also need to send them home early if temperatures become unsafe.

💜 What are we doing to ensure your dog’s safety?

⭐️ Monitoring the temperature within the salon

⭐ Adjusting appointments to earlier hours, aiming to finish their grooms before the temperature peaks

⭐️ Allowing them free access to water and giving plenty of breaks

⭐ Minimising the use of hot dryers where possible and utilising strong fans for added ventilation

⭐️ Sending dogs home early if the temperature in the salon rises to unsafe levels

We understand that these things can be frustrating, however, a dog’s comfort and health will always be at the forefront. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

💜 What can owners do to help their dogs during heatwaves?

⭐️ Adjust walk times to early in the day or later at night to avoid high temperatures

⭐️ Utilise cooling mats in their preferred areas of sleeping, damp towels are also a good substitute (note: towels/mats should never be placed on top of the dog, this can trap heat)

⭐️ Provide plenty of fresh water throughout the day

⭐️ Wet their underside with a damp cloth to aid in cooling them down

Familiarise yourself with the signs of heatstroke and heat exhaustion, catching it early is lifesaving. If you notice the following signs pictured below, I urge you to contact your dog’s vet for further instructions.

Hi, I’m Eren, the owner of Diva Dogs Grooming!

I’m a City and Guilds qualified dog groomer, having achieved my qualification with distinctions in all my exams. I’m also qualified in canine first aid and fully insured. I’m one of the many talented groomers working out of Dirty Dogs Grooming in Uttoxeter, the longest standing dog grooming salon within the town.

I’m experienced with a wide variety of dogs, not only having grown up with dogs but have worked with dogs for over four years in a professional capacity in several different fields ranging from dog training, competitive obedience and now dog grooming. I currently own three dogs, a mastiff who is a gentle giant, a rambunctious Dalmatian and a sweet old rescue mix.

My Dalmatian and I qualified for Crufts 2026 in both the breed class and YRKC handling and qualified again for Crufts 2027 by taking 1st place in the Special Beginners category at The National Dog Show. My time in the show and competitive dog sports world has provided me with priceless experience, as well as the opportunity to learn from various experts and specialists in a variety of fields.

As any dog owner knows, my dogs are my world and get the very best of care. This is something I put into practice with every dog I work with. I treat every dog as if they’re my own, with patience, kindness and understanding.
