Mills Stables Retraining Racehorses

If you have all followed Shan's journey, this is the fabulous ending to his retraining with us!
He is now a calm, relaxed and confident horse who loves his retraining and has the most fabulous paces in the school. From the sharp, choppy, tense strides he now opens up and shows us all what he had buried inside for so many years. I love riding him now!
I couldn't be prouder of Shan for letting me in to help him. Not just under saddle but to be able to help his anxiety in a stable and just life in general.
In this video his owner also comes to ride him and now she has the horse she believed he could be. I love my job helping horses like Shan and he is missed now he has gone back home but he left us a happy horse starting his new journey in life! 🏇

Shan's video is now on our YouTube channel

I have a lovely little 3 year old filly who we are starting to see if we can find her person.
She was backed at 2 but was not going to make it in racing, she had weak hocks then so she was turned away at a stud to carry on maturing and then came to me this summer. We have her in light work now with just short simple sessions in the school and she has just started hacking out.
She is a bold young filly and will want someone who isn't going to let her walk all over them, because she will test the boundaries to see who she can dominate, typical female 🤣
She is harmless and a great ride but a young horse that we aren't over producing due to her age.
The right home is most important so please share or get in touch if she sounds like she could be a nice project to bring on and give a good home to.
She would be around 15.1/ 15.2hh and she is light framed mare so no novices and she would only suit a lightweight rider at this stage still. No one over 10.5 / 11 stone max.

I know we may be limited on finding the right person but someone must be out there!

The wonderful Magic! 16hh, 7 year old gelding. Last raced April this year and we have given him a few months downtime and are now slowly producing him. He is going to be a very special boy for someone!

We have been a bit quiet all week because we have all had a bad dose of flu since the weekend 🤧🤒😷
Finally starting to feel a bit more alive so I have just managed to sort through some photos from the SSADL championships on Sunday with Savello 🏇
He won his age class and was then reserve champion and just missed out on the LIHS ticket, absolutely gutted for him because he was perfect in his show and we obviously think he deserves it! 🥰

Huge thanks to SPILLERS for keeping him looking amazing at 20 with the Spillers Senior Super Mash and Premier Performance for the Energy powder and Energy Cookies for giving him that extra spark for the show ring 🏆
