Everyone, meet my new mate from Coloplast! 👋🏼💚

Hopefully, this little piece of kit will help me keep an eye on Stumpy and alert me directly on my phone 📱 if there are any potential issues with my bag, such as leaks. 🤞🏼

I’m really hoping this will help ease some of my anxiety and take away a little of the stress that comes with living with a stoma.

My anxiety whenever I leave the house is always high. Where are the toilets? Is my bag okay? Is it leaking? Is it going to leak? You’ll often catch me with my hands down my trousers checking Stumpy, which isn’t exactly a good look, let alone a professional one! 😂💩

Working with horses, being active and constantly on the go definitely adds another level of worry when it comes to leaks, tears and other stoma-related issues.

I already struggle to sleep properly because of pain, so worrying about leaks on top of everything else certainly doesn’t help. I’m up and down multiple times a night just to check my bag over..

For some people, the fear of leaking is so overwhelming that they struggle to sleep next to their partners. That’s how much of an impact something people might consider so small can have on our lives.

Living with a stoma affects us all differently, but the anxiety, constant checking and fear of an accident are very real for so many of us.

So, if this little device can take even a tiny bit of that worry away, then I’m all for it! 🥹💚

As always, I’ll be documenting the highs, the lows and everything in between. I’ll be completely honest about how I get on, because I know I have a few stoma mates following my journey, and if sharing my experience helps even one person, it’s worth it. 🫶🏼

Wow, thank you so much to everyone who has booked onto our Aqua Equi demo day! We are now fully booked and operating a waiting list. 🐴💦

Due to the fantastic response, we will be looking at arranging some additional dates!

Once we have coordinated diaries with the other students and our tutor, i will announce the next available date.

✨ Priority booking: Anyone on the current waiting list who hasn’t secured a slot on our December date will be given first refusal on the new date before we open bookings to everyone else.

🐴 DEMO HORSES WANTED | AQUAEQUI TRAINING DAY 💦

We’re excited to welcome AquaEqui to JK Equestrian Rehabilitation on 12th December 2026 for a training and assessment day as part of my ongoing professional development in equine hydrotherapy.

AquaEqui provides specialist equine hydrotherapy education, supporting the development of knowledge and practical skills in water treadmill therapy and equine rehabilitation. 🤍

As part of the day, we need 6–8 demo horses to help fulfil practical assessment requirements and clinical hours.

✨ A fantastic opportunity to give your horse a discounted water treadmill session!

Sometimes, the reminder that you’re good enough comes from the smallest people.

It’s no secret that I struggle with my mental health. Lately, my motivation, not wanting to ride and eating have been affected, and my brain has been telling me I’m not good enough.

But today, one of my younger clients reminded me why I do what I do.

The first thing she and her mum said was:

“We’ve missed you!”

At the end of her lesson, she told me she couldn’t wait for next week.

We also talked about my stoma, and I asked if she wanted to see it. As I showed her, we laughed about the fact that I was literally pooping while talking to her. 😂

Her mum called it my superpower.

She replied:

“No, Mum, you mean her POOPING POWER!” 💪😂

That moment reminded me that she didn’t see me as broken, different or not good enough. She just saw me—Jennie, the person she enjoys spending time with.

Sometimes, we all need reminding that our struggles don’t make us less. A bad day, week or month doesn’t erase who we are.

Today, a little girl reminded me that I’m good enough simply because I’m me.

And apparently, I have pooping power. 😂💪🤍

Sometimes, just showing up as yourself is more than enough. ❤️

Every single person who attended this weekend’s clinic asked when the next one would be, so I’ve been through the diary and found another date for you! 🐴🤍

Our next clinic will focus on poles, grids, confidence building and, most importantly, having FUN! 🦄

Sometimes, we get so caught up in training, competing and chasing the next goal that we forget the whole reason we have horses in the first place — because we love them and enjoy spending time with them! ❤️

These clinics are all about building confidence, developing skills, having a giggle and enjoying our horses in a relaxed, supportive environment.

Sometimes, when life is kicking your ass, all you need is five minutes of fresh air, a bit of peace, and some time with the youngsters. 🦄🤍

I think people sometimes forget that livery yard owners are human too. We have feelings, struggles, bad days and a million things going on behind the scenes that people don’t always see.

We are trying our hardest to run a yard where everyone feels happy, supported and valued. But imagine trying to please numerous people, all with completely different interests, needs, expectations and personalities. What works for one person might not work for another, and sometimes, no matter how hard you try, you simply cannot please everyone.

Are we going to make mistakes along the way? Of course we are. We’re human. We’re learning, adapting and doing our best to keep everything running, often while juggling far more than people realise.

Behind every yard is a person who cares, who puts their heart into what they do, and who is often carrying the weight of everyone else’s expectations alongside their own personal struggles.

Sometimes we need a little reminder that kindness costs nothing. A bit of patience, forgiveness and understanding can go a very long way.

Please remember that your yard owner is a human being, too. We won’t always get everything right, but that doesn’t mean we don’t care or aren’t trying our hardest.

And sometimes, when it all gets a bit too much, five minutes of fresh air and a cuddle with the youngsters is exactly what we need to reset, breathe and carry on. 🤍🦄

A little kindness goes a long way. Let’s give each other a bit more grace. 🤍
