🐑 🐄 Blue Tongue Vaccination Update🐑🐄

Farmers, please be aware that Blue Tongue is still prevalent across Wales and the whole of England and remains a concern.

We are currently managing to get a trickle of Blue Tongue vaccines through the practices. Supplies are limited and are arriving in small quantities, so we will be allocating vaccines as they become available.

If you are considering vaccinating your livestock, please contact the practice and ask to be added to our Blue Tongue vaccination list. This will allow us to allocate vaccines to farms and small holdings as they come through the door.

We will contact you when vaccines becomes available and discuss arrangements for vaccination.

Don’t leave it until an outbreak occurs — if you are interested in vaccination, get in touch now. 🦙🐐🐄 🐑💉

❌Bluetongue Update ❌
🐄🐄🐑🐑

❗️Unfortunately we are starting to see a few suspect cases within our area now, which seems to reflect the picture across wales.❗️

❌Bluetongue is notifiable, If you suspect a case on your farm or small holding, please contact ourselves or you can phone straight through to APHA wales and speak to their duty vet❌

If there is a high suspicion of bluetongue we will be notified to come out to examine and sample up to 3 animals (fully funded by APHA). We are prioritising these visits where possible at the moment.

‼️We would also like to reassure clients that a positive case of BTV 3 WILL NOT result in any movement restrictions being placed on your holding‼️

💉Vaccination is still the best tool we have against Bluetongue💉

‘it’s not too late to vaccinate, the predicted peak of disease is expected in September and October’

We are now starting to get stock into the practices, if you are on our waiting list you will be contacted when yours has arrived.
If you haven’t considered vaccinating, we would strongly recommend you do so now. Please call us to discuss with a vet and be placed on our waiting list.
