We are delighted to share that Edhen Veterinary Surgery is opening in Camborne in May 🐶 🐱 🩺

An independent veterinary practice for the Camborne Community ✨ run by Edhen’s trusted team 🙌🏼

The veterinary practice at Cross Street Camborne was opened by Andrew and Jane Parker in 1996 ✨ known then as Clifton Villa Veterinary Surgery.

In 2016 the practice was taken on by corporate veterinary group CVS and sadly closed in 2024.

Last week they handed the lease to the owners of Edhen Vets- Rachel, Louis and Lois 💙 Andrew and Jane are delighted to see new life brought to the building and it’s return to an independent, locally owned veterinary practice 🐶 🐱 🐰

We are busy with renovations and will open in May ☀️ follow along if you want to see what we are upto .camborne

Proud to be an independent veterinary practice 💙

At Edhen Vet’s being locally owned means we can focus on what really matters when it comes to your pet’s care. Fair, transparent service with clear communication and giving genuine choice in all aspects of your pet’s treatment.

Truro and Newquay teams today feeling proud to be an independent practice, on the day the CMA has released its final recommendations for the veterinary industry. Many of these recommendations are already part of how we work everyday, because we believe that’s what good veterinary care should look like.

🐾 Unclaimed Cat – Truro 🐾

This lovely male stray cat is still unclaimed at our Truro (Shortlanesend) practice, after being found near Illogan last week.

We’re sharing again in the hope of finding his owner and getting him safely back home where he belongs. If no one comes forward, he is due to be rehomed on Thursday with a wonderful local cat charity that we work closely with.

If you think he might be yours, or recognise him, please contact the team as soon as possible.

From today, new dog and livestock laws come into force across the UK 🐾🐑🐄

And to mark the occasion… meet Bee and Primrose - one of our team’s very own (and very cute) new arrivals!

Living in Cornwall means countryside walks are never far away, from coastal paths to farmland tracks. With that comes sheep, cows, horses, and even the occasional llama or alpaca.

These new laws are here to help protect livestock and keep everyone safe, so it’s more important than ever to keep dogs under control when out and about. Even the best-behaved pups can get a bit excited in the wrong moment.

A lead, a bit of awareness, and knowing your surroundings goes a long way. So let’s keep enjoying the countryside safely, for everyone who calls it home. 💙🩵

🐾 Found Dog – Newquay 🐾

A male Yorkshire Terrier has been brought into our Edhen Vets Newquay practice today after being found locally without a collar.

He is microchipped, however the details still appear to be registered to the breeder, so we have been unable to contact the current owner.

If you think this may be your dog, please contact the team at Edhen Newquay as soon as possible. 🐾

Today we’re celebrating International Women’s Day and the incredible women who make our profession what it is.

The veterinary profession is now one of the most female-led industries, with around 75–80% of the workforce being women, including the majority of vets, almost all veterinary nurses, and much of the client care team.

At Edhen, we’re incredibly proud to work alongside so many talented, compassionate, and dedicated women who care for our patients and clients every single day.
