From 1 June to 26 July, works will be carried out on the A363 Bradley Road in Trowbridge by Redrow to create a new entrance for the housing development there.

Two-way temporary traffic lights will be in place between 7.30am and 4.30pm while the works are carried out.

There may be delays, so please plan ahead and allow extra time for your journey.

☀️ A reminder going into the hot weather ☀️

Dogs don’t sweat! If you’re struggling to cool down they definitely will be too. 😰

Dogs release heat through panting, as well as their feet - this is why walking on hot pavements can burn their feet and cause them to overheat too 😢

If you do need to walk your dog - do this early morning or late evening, in shaded areas 🌳

Would you walk in jeans, boots and a coat just to get some steps in in 26 degree heat? Don’t put your dog through it 🥾

Limit their exercise - use sniffing and brain games to tire them out. No dog has died from skipping a walk 🐶

Research your breed - flat faced, double coated breeds as well as older dogs and puppies are more prone to overheating and heat stroke 🌤️

Use damp or wet towels or blankets on the ground to cool them down - never put them over a dog as it won’t allow their body heat to escape 🥵

Ensure they have a cool shaded area of your house or garden they can nap in to relax 😎

As it’s bank holiday a lot of people will be hosting bbqs etc, as we know, most dogs won’t stop when there’s lots of people around - ensure they can take a time out to keep their body temperature down 🍗
