HOT SPOT INFO
For anyone wanting to know what a hot spot is .
Our Poor Stevie had one few weeks ago but now it’s starting clearing up thankfully.

The hot spot (acute moist dermatitis) is a red, inflamed, and painful skin sore that appears and grows very fast when it’s constantly licked , chews, or scratches an itchy spot.

What They Look Like
Round or oval patches of hair loss , red, and wet skin that may ooze fluid or pusSwollen and smelly areas with matted fur around the sore

Common CausesFleas, ticks, or insect bites (food or seasonal)Trapped moisture in the coat from swimming or a bath, rain ,ear infections or a**l glands heavy matting of coat, poor grooming.

We used hibi liquid hand rub as it contains chlorhexidine gluconate ,and within a week it gone , you get this from your local pharmacist it’s about a £10er.

IMPORTANT

Avoid heavy creams and thick ointments on the hot spot because they trap moisture and bacteria, which can make the infection worse.
IE sudocrem, vaseline, savlon

Your hot spot needs to dry out to form a scab for healing.

If the spot doesn’t clear up then see a vet you may need a course of antibiotics also and a collar.

Please note that we will not groom a dog that has one but we can shave the area if you need it done Free of charge ( regular and scheduled in customers only ) .
